We enjoyed a circle tour of the historic sites in eastern Pennsylvania. Flying into Philadelphia, we took the train downtown to our hotel and enjoyed the city on foot.
When we were ready to leave the city, we picked up our rental car at a downtown location, checked out of our hotel, and set out for Gettysburg, Lancaster, Harrisburg, and Valley Forge. Back at Philadelphia, we turned in our rental car at the airport and flew home.
Across the street from the beautiful city hall building, the Courtyard is a great location for touring the city on foot.
Start here on your tour of the historic district. If you like history, you can easily spend two full days seeing Philadelphia's historic sites.
