A stroll through Federal Hill is a great way to start and end your day. But in between you can shop, dine and discover a world of fun in downtown Providence.

Before you even begin your day, spend your night in Italy at this charming, all-suite boutique hotel. Located in the Federal Hill district you'll be right in the middle of all the restaurants and shops of Providence's Little Italy.
If you step outside your hotel you're already here so start the day by walking around this Italian neighborhood. Stop at one of the bakeries for a pastry and cappuccino for breakfast. At the end of the evening, grab a cannoli or gelato before heading back to your hotel for the night.
This award-winning zoo is good for kids of all ages. There are hundreds of animals from African elephants to Zebras and everything in between. Animals are divided into the regions in which they can be found. So you can see bison in North America or wallabies in Australia.
Grab a bite to eat at this eclectic restaurant. You'll be seated in a dining room with artifacts and antiques, most of which are for sale. The food is fine and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming.
Shop 'til you drop at this mega-mall with over 100 stores and boutiques selling everything from clothes to sunglasses to gourmet chocolates. There are plenty of restaurants for dining as well as a food court. And if you're in the mood there's a movie theater showing current releases.
Famous for their grilled pizza and other Italian dishes, this award-winning restaurant is worth the wait in line. Plan for an early dinner so you won't have to wait too long. It can get a bit pricey but the food is divine.
This seasonal event is worth planning a trip to Providence. A series of bonfires are ignited on three separate rivers in downtown Providence. Visitors stroll along the river, listening to classical music while admiring the fire sculptures. It's free.
