  • 4. Eco Adventures - Bio luminescent tour
    Eco Adventures, Fajardo, Puerto Rico

Experience the breathtaking Bio luminescent tour. $45 per person, +$25 for transportation (optional). Best suggestions:
    1. Go for the 6pm tour as you can enjoy the view of sunset and kayaking through the mangrove channel while going as return will be pitch dark.
    2. Wear clothes and slipper that can get wet.
    3. Don't bring phone or camera as very high possibility of getting wet.
    4. Bring bug spray just in case as there are lot of mosquitoes while kayaking through the mangrove.
    5. Make prior reservation as its difficult to get last minute ticket.
The company provides bottled water and light snacks. The guides are very informative and even first timers need not worry as the guides are very helpful. Creepy to row through the mangrove in the dark, but a great experience.

  • 5. El Yunque National Forest
The El Yunque Rain Forest, El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico

Go up the Yokahu tower for the view and hike to the waterfalls. Can either hike one of the marked trails or take a tour with one of the rainforest rangers. Tours can be arranged from the visitor center close to the entrance of the rainforest. If you have swim wear, you can also take a swim at one of the waterfalls - La Mina falls. It's 30 minutes moderate hike to the falls with a lot of steps.

  • 6. Traveler Catamaran
    Traveler Catamaran, Fajardo, Puerto Rico

Most memorable, and very well arranged. $70 per person which includes gear, lunch and drinks. Provides lunch from a sandwich bar with varied options - tuna, chicken, ham , salami, pasta salad, etc. Also provides unlimited drinks in the tour, both with and without rum. Nice music and fun crew. You can sunbathe in the edges and roof of the catamaran, and dive from it. There's also a slide to splash into the water which is fun. Get your bathing suit, towel and ample sunscreen.

Takes 40 minutes to reach 1st spot, a nice beach where we snorkeled in the shallow reef and then had lunch. After lunch, you are taken to a 2nd spot which is in deeper water and can view more varied fishes and reefs. No worry for first timers in snorkelling as you can wear the life belt and comfortably float in the water while enjoying the sea life.
