A
german-influenced beer pub located in Brookline. A very adventurous
beer list, with a very enticing beer celler. Bound to knock any beer
lover off their feet. The food is standard pub fare: Steak fries,
burgers, and ribs. Though the food is pretty standard in quality, the
beer is what draws the crowd. And though it may look like a
college-hang out in some respects, it's approach to beer is extremly
classy. All the beer is served in it's proper glasswear and the beer servers know their beer. Very helpful if you're just starting out on your journey to great beer. Warning: The bar gets very crowded Thursday-Saturday nights. It's recommended you come early or be prepared to wait.
Attracting a wide range of customers, from the hipster college crowd to the down-to-earth beer lover--this beer pub always gets repeat customeres. Everyone who comes here is looking for cheap but delicious food and superb quality beer. The beer selection is extensive and rotates frequently. The waitstaff is friendly and often makes excellent suggestions on their specials. On Friday Afternoons they have their 1 dollar burger special. Really hits the spot. Warning: the bar doesn't take cards, just cash and the bar is extremely narrow. On a busy night, it may also be hard to find a spot. However, the bar does play full-length cds, a real amenity (unless you hate what you're listening to), but the music selection is very good generally.
3. Sunset Grill & Tap
With over 200+ Beers on their list, this beer pub is a cash cow in Boston. Located in Brighton nestled between BU and BC colleges, this bar/restaurant attracts the young and hungry who fill the restaurant consistently on the weeknights. The staff is a littles spotty, some really know their beer, some don't and it's really up in the air depending on who you get. If you have a large group you might have to wait an hour to get a seat, but nonetheless, it's worth waiting for. The appetizers are everything you'd want, full of cheese and grease.
