Some of the best eating to be had in PCB.
The Boatyard is located on the docks of Grand Lagoon behind Capt. Anderson's restaurant... Dress is casual, prices are reasonable. Open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week... year âround. Reservations are not necessary and plenty of boat slips are available if you are coming by boat.
The Boatyard is a great place to have a long leisurely lunch or dinner with friends or family. It's kid-friendly, teen-friendly and adult-friendly too! The food is excellent (try the BLT, bacon lobster & tomato sandwich, yum!) and the marine craft traffic passing on the lagoon provides plenty of opportunity for people watching. Whenever people come to visit, and want to see what PCB is all about, I take them to the Boatyard!
Don't let the "sports Grille" part put you off, it just means they have a lot of televisions. This is a lovely restaurant for a family or friends to have a great meal in, whether you are a sports fan or not.
The menu is cajun with a gourmet caribbean flair. Their specialty dishes are sublime, I recommend the Shrimp Bucktown or the Bayou Fettuccine. And don't miss out on the amazing coconut pie, it's out of this world.
The service is consistently good, and they have no problem with kids or big groups. This is definitely one of my favourite local places, and I hope it becomes one of yours too.
Schooner's may not have the very tastiest food in the area, but they have the location all sewn up.
Located on the east side of the beach, nearly anywhere you sit you'll have an ocean view. They have live music every night, and it's a great place to have a drink or some nibbles and watch the sun go down. The food isn't bad, it's just nothing special, but the atmosphere makes it worth your while.
The Saltwater Grill is always our choice for fine dining, when we want a special evening out, we head here. The 25,000 gallow aquarium that greets you as you enter, is just the beginning! Service is impeccable, and the menu is varied and creative. Choose the stuffed lobster, crab cakes, or any of the hickory grilled steaks, and you're sure to be pleased with your meal. The portions are generous and the chef never disappoints.
Sometimes after a day of fun in the sun, you just want to kick back in your hotel or condo and let the dinner come to you. Hungry Howie's pizza will gladly bring you a delicious pizza with free flavored crust (I like the garlic), calzone style subs, fresh salads, hot wings, and 2 liter bottles of Pepsi products. Their pizza beats Dominos/Pizza Hut/Papa John;s by a mile, and the delivery people are propt & courteous.
This family steakhouse, located 2218 Thomas Dr. is a tasty, less expensive, and less crowded alternative to Angelo's. Their menu is fairly basic, salads, steaks, burgers, and sides, but everything they offer is quality, and you'll feel you got a good value for money here.
Located at 3123 Thomas Drive, this small family run bakery and cafe is a great place for a delicious breakfast or a tasty hot sandwich on fresh baked bread. They are only open until 2 pm, monday through saturday, and they stop serving breakfast at 11, but if you can get there in time for the french toast, it's worth it. The coffee is excellent and very strong, and their rolled omelets and cuban sandwiches are outstanding.
Their slogan is Eat At Mike's, and I couldn't agree more. Mike Thomas' down-home diner is a gem on Front Beach, a great place for an affordable and tasty meal. The daily breakfast specials (less than $4 each) will fill you up for hours!
A tiny little locals' spot with big delicious food! Flamingo Joe's has only 8 tables in their small dining room, and an outdoor patio with several more. Eating at off hours has its advantages here, it fills up fast. But for good food at good prices, you have to try it. Sandwiches range from $6-$9 and come with chips and Joe's own salas, or tasty seasoned fries. Add a few dollas and you can get a full meal with a choice of THREE sides.
The menu offers vegetarian, beef, chicken, and seafood options. The grilled shrimp sandwich is divine, so is the Aloha chicken. They were voted best burger in Bay County, so you know it's good. They even offer vegetarian options. Try the white chocolate key lime pie or homemade brownies for dessert.
You order at the window and the food is cooked fresh to order, brought out to your table when it's done. The patio is pet friendly, they even have doggie treats and water out there!
They also deliver from 5-8 pm so it's a nice alternative to pizza if you're too tired from a day at the beach to venture out.
All you can eat meat! If you have never been to a Brazilian barbecue, this is a not to be missed experience. It's like an all you can eat buffet, only the servers bring delicious fresh fire-roasted meats to your table and carve them onto your plate. There is also a buffet of side dishes, but most people are so busy stuffing themselves with the assorted meats they never make it back to the sides for seconds. The traditionally costumed waiters will not stop until you're stuffed! It may be a little more expensive than other AYCE restaurants in the area, but the food quality is MUCH higher and value for money it can't be beat. Go hungry and have a blast.
Kitchen's ICe Cream, located in the Shoppes at Edgewater (Beckrich & Front Beach) is some of the finest homemade ice cream you will ever taste! They make all their ice cream fresh daily and have tons of unique flavors (I like the Gator Stew!) as well as your usual favourites. Shakes, sundaes, malts, fresh waffle cones, parfaits, italian sodas, if it's sweet and cold, you will find it here. Say hi to their adorable mascot Dippy the Dolphin, and enjoy!
Forget Starbucks! On Front Beach Road, north of and on the opposite side of the street from Ripley's, you will find a proper mom & pop coffee house with a wide selection of coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, pastries and sandwiches. Joey himself is often behind the counter (ask to see pictures of his new baby!) and the service is always friendly and prompt. If you need a morning wake-up, this is the place for it!
