3 Days isn't really long enough, but here my top tips of what to cram into a short break in NYC. I've tried to keep budget in mind and drop in a couple of tips for vegetarians as well.

1. Woodbury Common Premium Outlets
|
|
| Will take a whole day, but it's worth it because you can get all your shopping done, in one day, at great prices. |

| Discount department store. Definitely check this out before trying Macy's or Bloomingdale's. You need to be patient and search around a bit, but the bargains are there to be found. |

"VALID FOR 48 HRS ' One great price for 3 tour loops! Enjoy the best sights in Manhattan during the day and at night, with unlimited hop-on, hop-off service at over 35 stops. Stops include Central Park, Lincoln Center, Uptown Loop - American Museum of Natural History,Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Harlem, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim and other famous cultural attractions on the Museum Mile."
It's a great way to see the city, if you're pressed for time. The buses don't stop for you to take photos though, so if you're a photography enthusiast, you will have to get off and wait for the next bus. It's hop on - hop off, so it's fine for you to do that, and gives you a bit of time to explore by foot as well. |

4. Liberty Helicopter Tours

| Offer various trips over New York, I recommend the 5-7 minute Lady Liberty Tour. It gives great views and isn't too expensive. |

| Rotating cocktail bar at the New York Marriott Marquis in Time Square, which offers an unlimited buffet. It's pricey, but does give great views of New York and is a cheaper alternative to The View Restaurant, which is NYC's only revolving roof top restaurant. The Lounge and restaurant rotate together, so you get the same great views. Both the restaurant and lounge offer little choice for vegetarians, but there are some options. |

| Great vegetarian restaurant that meat eaters can enjoy too. Away from the tourist areas so it gives you a chance to dine with real New Yorkers. |

| No trip to New York is complete, without viewing it from the top of the Empire State building, but buy your ticket in advance because the queues can be horrendous. |

You can get great views of the New York skyline, if the cross the bridge to Brooklyn. Particularly nice at night. |
