1. Tourist Information Centre, Dumbarton Road, Stirling
| Easy to find in town centre, obvious essential 1st stop for any visitor to Stirling. Open top bus has a stop right outside. |

2. Open top bus tour
| A great way to see all of Stirling (providing its not raining of course). The ticket gets you a discount for most main attractions. Jump off at the University if the weather's nice for a picnic at the lochside. From the University you can also walk up to Bridge of Allan which has a nice village atmosphere, local walks and some interesting individual shops. |

| An obvious must for anyone visiting Stirling. The audio tour is excellent or there are (hourly) guided walking tours. The views are stunning, and the vast majority of the castle is open for you to explore. The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders museum is really interesting. A trip to the castle is quite expensive so allow plenty of time to explore and pack a picnic! TIPS - explorer passes are available if you plan to visit other castles (especially Edinburgh) which can save you money, a Stirling tour bus ticket or ticket for other local attractions may also get you a discount. |

4. National Wallace Monument
| Stunning views if you're not too scared to climb to the top! Save your open top bus ticket for a discount. Think students also get a discount here. Its quite a climb to get up the hill to it, though there's a minibus for those of a lazy persuasion. Its free just to walk up, admire the monument and check out the views from there without going inside. |

Centre of town: La Ciociara (Friar Street) - Italian, great for lunch, excellent pizzas, wee bit more expensive in the evenings Papa Joes, (Dumbarton Road) good for families, moderately priced, good variety so suits everyone The Port Cullis (next to Stirling Castle) great food, huge portions, v relaxed, well recommended Smiling Jacks (Barnton St) - Mexican, moderately priced, excellent food, v popular
Corrieri's (Alloa Rd, Causewayhead) not in the centre of town but in shadow of Wallace Monument, great for meals, coffee or ice cream. From here its a 15 min walk to Cambuskenneth Abbey which is free to visit |

7. Shopping

| Pretty much the same as everywhere else, maybe save the shopping spree until you reach Glasgow which has a much better choice!!! |
