Albq. is a city of versatility. You don't have to do the whole southwest thing here. Of course, you can, but there are so many other flavors to enoy.
They've really done some improvements at the zoo. The polar bear exhibit is outstanding. Ride a camel for $3 or just take a ride on the in-park train. Beautiful grounds perfect for enjoying a picnic.
It's not a large place, but it's cool inside and the big tank is great. Have lunch at the Shark Reef café (even without buying admission) and watch the fish having their lunch, too.
4. Middle Eastern and Persian Restaurant
Wonderful family atmosphere good for adults only or for families. The patio is wonderful especially for precocious little ones.
5. Gourmet Diner Food
Diner food with a gourmet twist...hip and fun.
6. Ride indoors
Beautiful Italian carousel in the Coronado mall 6600 Menaul NE and also in the Cottonwood Mall at 10000 Coors Blvd Bypass NW
7. Hiking or Mountain Biking
Try the Foothills Trails or perhaps drive a bit to Sandia Peak Ski Park for hiking and mtn. biking during the off season. Even in town, you can ride or walk the Bosque trail.
