Everyone knows about London, but England has many fine attractions and cities that should not be missed.
1. Isles of Scilly
Here you will find an idyllic beach-side town, far away from the hustle and bustle of most of England's cities. I recommend that you take a boat to explore the five islands that make up this locale.
2. Canterbury
Complete with castles and relics that inspired the works of Chaucer
How can you visit England without visiting the birthplace of the man who practically invented the English langiuage? One negative of course is that it has become a tourist trap in the worst way, but those who avoid peak hours should still manage to find the experience worthwhile. If you enjoy theater, you'll enjoy seeing a production by the Royal Shakespeare Company
The departing point for Stonehenge, Salisbury itself does not offer all that much, but Stonehenge truly is a site to be seen. Its existence is still a mystery.
You'll want to come to Brighton to experience the Bohemian aura of the city and also to check out the Royal Pavillion, which was home to three British monarch.
Newcastle isn't quite as glamourous as some of England's other cities, it is nonetheless bustling and has a great night life. Fans of comedy will enjoy the Newcastle Comedy Festival held each October.
7. York
York is one of the world's oldest cities, settled by Vikings during medieval times. Spook fans will love the York Dungeons.
Cambridge is one of the world's best college towns and is very easy to walk through. You won't want to miss visitng King's College when you are there, one of the world's finest.
Liverpool is more of an industrial city than any of the other cities on this list, but it is famous for great pubs and of course for being the brithplace of the Beatles.
Stoke-on-Trent is a fine town that should not be missed by tourists. It is a local geo-political fascination in that it consists of six separate towns that have been united int one.
