My trip to Honolulu and Hilo above the air, below the sea and on the land.

  • 1. Germaine's Luau
    Germaine's Luau, Honolulu, Oahu

Had a wonderful time on the bus with Cousin Kamu. He kept us laughing all the way to the luau which was very well organized and entertaining. The food was great and people were encouraged to interact with one another at picnic table settings. Many photo ops before and after the show. There were many bus loads of people, but ours was the bus that wouldn't start to go home. Our tour guide kept everyone calm and entertained for the 15 minutes until a replacement bus could be found. Then, he had everyone singing and laughing on the way back to the hotel. Very well handled overall.

Wonderful trip to see fish on the reefs near Honolulu. The tour guide was very interesting and knowledgeable. Beautifully colored tropical fish, sea turtles even a shark. The long lines and crowd were very well managed by a friendly crew.

We took a flight to Hilo one day to take the volcano tour. Talk about a bird's-eye view of a volcano! Awesome trip and helpful pilot - the flight was more than I expected. Very comfortable - well worth the money. I'm 60 years old, but when I grow up I want to be a helicopter pilot. The only way to see the volcano in my opinion. Then, to fly over and see where the lava flows into the ocean was great.

Great stage show and a very tasty meal well prepared and served. The entertainment was top-notch much like a Vegas review. Enjoyed it thoroughly. I laughed and sang along with the performers singing my favorite oldies.

This magic show and dinner was awesome. Very unique and entertaining. The food was very good for mass produced food. Served hot even though there were many people. Good service. But the show was spectacular and included polynesian dancing. I wanted to see it over again, but had to go home.

  • 6. Botanical Garden - Hilo

After our helicopter tour, we had time to go to the Botanical Garden not far from the airport. I took so many pictures because everywhere you look are unusual plants and flowers. It was so beautiful, I wanted to remember every flower. It was very muggy and warm, but the smell of the flowers made you forget about the mosquitoes and perspiration. I'm a good hiker, but the walk back out was on a steep incline and very tiring. I only remember the beauty - well worth going.
