My list is the top ten things to do when visiting Milford, Pike County, Pennsylvania.
70,000 acre national park (mostly in Pennsylvania) along the upper Delaware River. Great hiking (try the hike along the Cliffs to Raymondskill Falls), 35 mile biking trail, canoeing, etc.
Great luxury boutique hotel, renovated in 2006. Small--only 16 rooms--but exquisite. Collection of 19th c. Hudson River School paintings in its public spaces. Excellent restaurant and bar.
This area is incredibly scenic, as the river is federally protected (no motorboats). More than 100 pairs of nesting bald eagles, black bear, vast forests, hiking, biking, kayaking, tubing, canoeing, camping.
Collection of retail shops in an old lumberyard, includes two large multi-dealer antique centers.
Great non-profit that organizes eagle watching excursions. Majestic and moving experience.
Historic small museum of Zane Grey's house where he wrote. It is right where the Lackawaxen River meets the Delaware River.
This local museum has the bloody Lincoln flag, upon which the slain president's head rested after he was shot. It is part of their Lincoln exhibit, which is extensive, impressive and moving. The museum has lots of other great exhibits, including a collection of costumes.
