A wonderful al fresco dining experience in Venice, Italy, in Campo S. Angelo - Tel: 041 2770688
4. Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square)
5. Campo Santo Stefano
A perfect place for a break, since itâs between San Marco Square & the Accademia. There are cafes on both side of the square & for the price of an espresso, you can people watch. Best gelato: Paolin ( San Marco 2962, on the northwest side). Try the stracciatella (chocolate chip). Hostaria ai Morozi (San Marco 2801) makes delicious scampi, good salads & panini.
6. Walking detour along the Grand Canal
From Calle della Croce, make a detour to one of the rare strips of footpath on the Grand Canal. Turn left (north) up Calle Larga dei Bari, right along Lista dei Bari & left (north) along Ramo Zen, then Calle Zen to the Riva di Biaslo. A couple of mansions here are interesting to see.
7. Burano Island
is the most colorful of the lagoon islands, with its
brightly colored houses. It is also known for lace-making.
8. Murano
Italy's glass-making center since 1291, when furnaces were restricted to Murano, to prevent Venice from foing up in a blaze. To get to Murano, catch the vaporetto that departs from Venice's Fondamenta Nove, every 10 minutes.

The residences, built by architect Palladio, are open for viewing in Vicenza, an elegant city, 40 minutes from Venice by train. Once there, you can take a Brenta Canal ride to see the villas
