Great place to stay in Julian. Not really a hotel, you have your own cabin and the ingredients to make your own breakfast. Ideal if you like privacy.

Extensive menu of wood fired pizzas, salads, soups and more. You can even get a slice of Julian apple pie. Ask about the housemade soups. The tomato-ginger was outstanding.

  • 4. Soups & Such Cafe

Tiny restaurant serving yummy soups. Try the soup, salad and sandwich combination after a morning of browsing the town shops. The salmon chowder was excellent.

Julian is an historic gold mining town located approximately an hour or so east of San Diego. At about 4000 feet, the weather depends on the season. The town itself is very small and touristy, but it does feature nice shops and restaurants. In October there is an apple festival, which makes the town overcrowded. Try the off-season for a more relaxed visit. Famous apple pie served in a variety of bakeries and restaurants.
