I thought I would offer up cheap and free things to do in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.

| The museum has some very nice static aircraft displays, dioramas, and other Air Force memorabilia. The admission is FREE, but there is a donation box if you would like to help them preserve history. You may even see planes flying around as the museum property is adjacent to Barksdale AFB. There is also a very nice gift shop inside that has a wide variety of military, Air Force, and even Barksdale AFB items to include mugs, blankets, stickers, toys, etc. I will certainly visit again soon. |

2. Sci-Port Discovery Center
| A family of 5 or less can get a yearly membership with free admission for one whole year for as little as $75. The exhibits change often, so there is always something new to see. Highly recommended for anyone who lives nearby... it also includes reciprocal free admission to science centers all over America, there is a list available on their website. |

3. The Louisiana Boardwalk
| Shopping galore, special events every weekend, and you can take the kids to play in the dancing water fountains for free in warm weather. There is also a carousel, and a walkway overlooking the Red River. A very nice place for an afternoon or an evening out. |

| If you have a GPS receiver (about $100+ at any department or electronics store), you can get a free account at the geocaching website and go find "treasures" based on coordinates posted on the Web. They are usually located in parks or around interesting places. The idea is to trade small items in various places and you can do this activity all over the U.S. and even around the world! |
