Huge, beautiful hotel on Michigan Avenue overlooking lake Michigan. Watch
The Fugitive and you can see the magnificance of the ball room. Awesome. Call Hotel directly for deals especially on long weekends.
2. Museum of Science and Industry
Huge, need a day to go through this monster. Awesome for kids (not especially toddlers because of the vastness) but the learning experience is awesome for all ages.
Good on a clear day. Elevator ride may make you queasy. Get a city pass and enjoy Sears Tower, Museums etc for much less.
Great for older school age kids (at least 8 years old) because of the vastness of the building. Takes at least 1 day.
Wonderful place for all ages. Has an attached Oceanarium right on lake Michigan and steps from the Field Museum.
6. Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum
Great for star/planet gazers.
My favorite. Beautiful works. Home of Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon in the Park"...breathtaking. Free on Tuesday's.
Great alternative to the Sear's Tower. Some like it better. Great for evening views of the city.
9. Berghoff Cafe
Original was a landmark and local favorite. IT closed, but cafe reopened this past year. Delicious German Food on W. Adams close to Theaters and shopping.
Great place to take the kids. Casual fare and jungle atmosphere.
The Original. The other's pale in comparison. The 4-cheese is awesome.
This pizza is to die for. Period. The BEST!

Beautiful older hotel right near the loop, shopping and Universities. Beautiful decor and great restaurant.
If you like Cajun...give this a try. Absolutely divine.
Great fun, nostalgic place to meet and eat. Great linguine and clams. Good wine selection.
Fun during warmer weather. Rides, food, attractions, kind of a mini-Coney Island feel.
17. Macy's - Formerly Marshall Field
The Flagship Marshall Field has been bought by Macy's -- hopefully it will still remain the wonderful place it always was. It's the most beautiful during Christmas with all the windows decorated. Just like in the movies. Great Frango candies.
