South from the Somersby Store passing the spur to Somersby Falls (about 3 km)... more » down to Mooney Mooney Creek; following the river under the freeway and then over Mooney Mooney Creek north of the northern tip of Native Dog Bay. Continuing south joining the Girrakool–Patonga Walking Track, turning off the track to Wondabyne Station (about 4 km), descending past the Kariong Brook Falls turning to Staples Lookout on the Woy Woy Road.
Side trips include: to Somersby Falls -- a fantastic waterfall; the Girrakool Aboriginal Rock Engraving Site -- easy access; Calga Rock engravings at the Australia Walk-About Park- family friendly. Also – to see Aussie reptiles without danger try the Australian Reptile Park: sample some of the wildlife of the Great North Walk including spiders and snakes under safe conditions. Located off Myoora Road, Somersby, close to the Sydney–Newcastle Freeway and only about 4 km from the Great North Walk.
