Points of Interest

1. Conspicuous Beach Car Access

There are toilets near the car park. Just beyond is a small gazebo.

2. Wildflowers and wildlife

Coastal banjine (Pimelea ferruginea) is a common shrub of coastal headlands and sheltered sand dunes, with dense pink flower heads and shiny oval leaves. It flowers between July and February.

Bull banksia (Banksia grandis) usually grows as a tree 5-10m high, but is more stunted here due to the coastal salt winds. The leaves are very large, up to ... More

3. Whale watching lookout

Follow the track that intersects the beach access path to the left. This is actually the Bibbulmun Track. There is a lookout part way along, after which the Track steepens considerably. When you reach a fork in the path, turn right. You will soon reach the lookout at the top.

Whales are frequently seen from the Conspicuous Beach Lookout from July... More

If you like coastline which is scenic, unspoiled and pristine (or close to it), then Conspicuous Beach is a spot... More

5. Conspicuous Cliffs

The beach is named for the small, yet indeed quite conspicuous, limestone cliff perched atop a tall, steep hill that towers over the beach.

The walk up to the cliff-top lookout is quite steep. When you reach the top, the views are quite spectacular and well worth the climb.

6. Rame Head Campsite

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the shelter at Rame Head campsite. Named for the prominent headland close by, the campsite was built in 1998 by Mountain Designs staff and their families. The 'Nornalup' design sleeps 12 to 15.
