Points of Interest

1. Wooden Bridge

This delicate wooden bridge spans one of the streams flowing down the mountains. Surrounded by woodland, it is a great spot for photos.

2. Viewpoint

From here, enjoy views over the Blackwater Valley, noting the Blackwater river meandering across the flood plains below.

3. Mocollop Castle

The castle (which, while immense, is not visible from the road) has an unusual round Keep with four square flankers (towers). 4. Mocollop Church & Graveyard

The Mocollop Graveyard at the base of the glen has not been used since 1964. It includes crypts of the Drew family, the former owners of the Mocollop Castle farm.

The church is believed to be the third on the site and includes the graves of both Protestants and Catholics.

The earliest grave dates to 1603.
