The only thing that made stay here was the location and the price. It is a small hotel,i found it as a 2 stars on the internet but only 1 star at the entrance of the hotel, they must of lost one till i got there..:) The location it's great,10 minute walk from the center of Verona and good breakfast. But this is where all the good things stop about this hotel. The room was very small with a improvised 1mX2m bathroom made from cartoon walls on the corner of the room.If you are claustrophobic you won't stay more than a min in that bathroom. Also there was a bad draining smell.Worst bathroom I've ever been to in a hotel. The personnel was almost ok...at the reception we had one day a fat guy...very rude. For the rest of the 3 days we stayed there we didn't see him again and the rest of the stuff were ok,especially the lady that was serving the breakfast, she was very nice. The worst part was at night...our room had a main street view,so much noise that in the first night i was so tired and i barely got any sleep, plus the thin paper walls, you hear all that your neighbors are doing(or talking). To be honest i wouldn't stay there again,i would happily pay another 10E and stay at a better hotel.

Not easy to find something affordable (under 100€) in Verona, especially during Opera season. I paid 76€/night. Hotel Valverde is well located, a ten minute walk from the train station and from Piazza Bra, the center of town. It's in old building but with no character. The room (#16) is weird – it’s pretty big, has a double bed and nightstands on either side and then a whole separate little room with closet and desk – and this is where the only window is, so without the lights on the main part of the room is dark. But the lights are bright enough, the AC strong, the sheets, towels and blankets look clean and the bed is comfy. But it seriously needs a paint job and some new furnishings. No mini bar and lots of tv stations but none in English, and after the first day I couldn’t even get the TV to work at all. The bathroom is also strange – very clean, newish tile – but the toilet, bidet and shower are all in one little area – well I guess you can pee while showering if you so desire. Also the hall lights are on timers and until you hit the ‘on’ button they are very dark. No lift (but only two floors above reception.) The staff was friendly though and I think they may be renovating some of the rooms from what I could see walking past some open doors. But my room was really pretty bad.

Very basic hotel conveniently located only a 10 minute walk from the Railway Station and from the major sites of Verona , of which there are lots to see. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was usual Itailan style cold buffett. Room was very dated, but warm on a cold February night. Biggest dissappointment was the bathromm. It was width of corridor. You had to squeeze past sink to get to wc which doubled up as shower cubicle. Initial reaction was one of horror but it reality it was OK. All right for 1 night stop but sure there are better hotels in Verona for not much more money.

We spent one night in Verona on our way to somewhere else. The Valverde was a great place to end up. It was a short walk from the train station and a short walk from the city center - right in the middle. The room was nice and comfortable, and it was totally worth the low price. Our room (#1) was on the front of the hotel with a view of the street, and a fair bit of accompanying street noise in the early morning. The neighborhood seemed fairly quiet at night despite being relatively close to a student area. The only real issue we had was that the handles in the bathroom were broken. The bathroom door was a sliding, vinyl, accordion door, and so the broken handle made it tough to close. Also, both handles on the shower door were broken causing a similar problem. The breakfast made up for any issues! It was the best continental breakfast we have ever seen - the choices abounded. Loads of cheeses, breads, cakes, yogurts, cereals, etc. It was wonderful.

This hotel was a great value. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the old city. If driving, you have to get a parking pass and park only in certain spaces, so make sure you check with the front desk. The hotel is on a relatively busy street, so it's a little noisy, but they have those metal shutters you can slide over your windows which help block out the sound. Sorry, it's been a couple months, so I don't remember the breakfast much, but I think it was the standard fare - continental, including yogurt.

I stayed at the Hotel Valverde with 2 friends. We were in town to attend the opera at the Arena. It was an easy walk from the hotel to the arena, and to many restaurants. The hotel was also an easy walk to and from the train station. The staff was pleasant and friendly.Upon our arrival, the staff carried our luggage up to our room. I wasn't aware of an elevator, although there may have been one. The complimentary breakfast provided a delightful and tasty array. The lady assisting in the Breakfast Room even reserved a table for us each morning and proceeded to make us fresh cappuccino. Although the room was a bit tight for 3 people, we only slept there, so it worked out. The staff provided extra pillows and covers for us. The beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning was cool and quiet. The cable TV presented a variety of channels for viewing. I will definitely make reservations to stay here during my next trip to Verona.

Most of the reviews i've seen sum this place up. Basic hotel but in a great location. I'll just break down the basic likes and dislikes: LIKES 1. The staff are super friendly and very helpful for planning out trips to Lake Garda and around Verona. 2. The location of the hotel is great. Just over 5 minute walk to the Verona Arena and just over 5 minute walk in the opp. direction to the main train/bus station. DISLIKES: 1. The bathroom, how can I describe it is like a wet room. Its very small.... 2. The TV didn't work but not a big deal. Its a no fuss hotel, very friendly staff and there is air con which in my opinion is a big bonus.... i'd definitely stay here again...

We stayd in 3 adults big room 3 nights, in second floor. No lift. Cosy B&B hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, especially the Lady in breakfast room. Breakfastbuffet was surpraisingly good. AC was working, important because of the hot weather -nearly+ 30C even in the night. Corridors were dark until we foud the light buttons...Bathroom good. Small balcony. Bed was good, sheets chances every day. No domestic animals. Surrounding safe an quiet. Near the centrum and railway station, 10-15 min walk. It was safe to walk home from opera at 1.30 am. Maybe not alone but in pair or more. Little traffic sounds but no disko or ristorante around.

Hotel was clean but in need of a renovation. For the price it was not great, but Verona is expensive. It is brilliantly located walking distance to train station and to centre. Staff were very warm and helpful. Breakfast was adequate, good minimal. We were recommended a tranquil restaurant, I tre risotti, brilliant in every detail. Polenta brusketta, great salads, home made pasta, traditional Verona spaghetti al ragu, great wine. Beautiful views across the river and up to the castle san pietro. Very romantic haunting. Try the ice cream parlour in via roma next to piazza bra, with a varied range of ice cream desserts in a cup or the cassata and in front of it the crushed ice fruit slushes at graniteria siciliana Be sure to try the best pizza al taglio Pizza Doge in via roma. Lodging and restaurants can be expensive. We spent a day in gardaland a fun park at the edge of Lago De Garda. If you have been to the great fun parks in Europe, this will be a disappointment. 3 of the rides are great but not memorable. The haunted house is a laugh. The food prices are ridiculous. Thank god the lines were short. One of the show was worth watching… Musuem… though the dancers could have been left out of the production.

Basic but comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is roughly half way between the train station and the Old Town in what felt to be a safe area. The reception staff were friendly and happy to provide information and recommendations. The rooms are fitted with pretty old furniture and the one we stayed in good have done with a touch of paint. Our room was however perfectly comfortable, spacious and clean; as was the bathroom. If you need the air conditioning you need to ask reception for the control which they gave to us with no problem. The only down point to our stay was that the following day. We covered the control with clothes, with the expectation that the cleaner would take it back, which they didn’t. When we arrived back at the hotel at the end of the day the receptionist questioned where the control was which felt slightly accusing. Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate to get the day started and the lady serving breakfast couldn’t do more to help. This is a great little hotel which I would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable stay at a good price.
