Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Looking at some of the previous reviews I think we were staying in a different hotel! We stopped off to break our journey from Benbecula to our home in Glasgow. Everything was perfect, from check-in to check out. Our room (in The Kingsclub) was very spacious and immaculately clean. We booked for dinner in the hotel (which was very busy for a Thursday evening in March) which was a good sign. Dinner was amazing and excellent value, lots of staff who were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. We were told we could go to the main hotel for breakfast or eat in the Kingsclub). We initially thought the main hotel would be better but were amazed at the choice when we came downstairs so decided to have breakfast there instead. The fruit salad was great (our favourite watermelon in abundance), plenty of hot choices and also a menu where you can order freshly cooked hot food. My husband had Eggs Benedict and he loved it. Absolutely no complaints, in fact we would both highly recommend The Kingsmills Hotel and look forward to a return visit. Praise should be given to all the staff and in particular the Chef and his/her team.

Stunning hotel with very attentive staff. Will not hesitate to return soon. Close to Inverness centre but far enough away to feel rural, with an 18 hole golf course next door. Food was exceptional and wine choice was phenomenal.

This is a lovely hotel, situated a short distance from the town centre. The staff are outstanding & can't do enough to help their guests. We had a Kingsize room, which was modern & very clean. Breakfast is a buffet style with loads of choice, both hot & cold. Dinner in the evenings was very good. My only quibble is that the menu stays the same every night. We were only there a few nights, so could ring the changes. If you plan in being in the lounge area for any time take a jumper/ cardigan as it can get chilly.

We did enjoy the stay and the room was fine and breakfast was excellent. However this is why it lost marks: We arrived to the manager giving the receptionist a public telling off. Which was a bit awkward. We then asked to check in. We were told no we were in the Kingsclub?? Walked over to separate building which has none of charm of the Kingsmill. Where you eat breakfast in the middle of the reception room and no bar. When I explained I had booked a pre paid for a specific type room in the main hotel, I was told it was booked. Not sure how that is possible given I had prepaid and booked! Whilst the room was modern and nice, the patio is facing a public pathway and main road. Not what we ordered and felt no privacy and Unable to enjoy the garden we paid for. Also the recommendation of crossing the car park in the complimentary dressing gowns to go to the pool was not appealing and therefore I felt unable to use those facilities. Had dinner in the restaurant, the staff work very hard, but understaffed. We waited a while to order, but food was good.

This was our first time at this hotel and will definitely not be our last. From the moment you arrive you are felt welcome and the staff are excellent. Our room which was in the hotel building was lovely and very clean. Bed was very comfy. We ate in the whiskey lounge one night and in the conservatory the next. Both meals were well cooked and really enjoyable. Breakfast was superb with plenty of hot and cold choices. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return later in the year.

Lovely atmosphere in the hotel, nice large room which was spotlessly clean with lovely en suite bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Excellent buffet breakfast, wide choice and hot food was hot. Really lovely and professional staff. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. Rooms were clean and big. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant. Whilst the hotel is dog friendly there are areas they're not permitted and it would help if they were allowed in the bar at least. All in all a great stay.

Your staff are such an asset. All staff in every department are so kind, courageous, and friendly. My husband is disabled and they all offered to help when necessary. We stayed in a luxury room and everything was great. We had breakfast twice each morning food excellent good choices. We also had dinner one night in the restaurant and another night in the lounge bar both excellent. We also had sandwiches one lunch time. Hotel is lovely and I suitable for everyone.

I used to always stay here enroute to home further north (as a treat.) Will be last time. As per previous review it is tired. And seems without customer care. I was allocated an accessible room with shower seat & raised wc emergency pull cords.I had not requested! I was expecting an en-suite with bath asked to be moved in arrival-nothing was available apparently!
