The 300 year old facade of this former coaching inn hides the fact this family run hotel combines charming olde world features with thoroughly modern facilities. Situated at the top of the famous cobbled street, walked by the Revd. Patrick Bronte and his famous family. In more recent times as illustrated on TV in Hovis advertisements. This is very much an establishment where food and drink are taken seriously, and dispensed along with hospitality in good measure. Warmth, comfort and a relaxed atmosphere prevail throughout the 14 en-suite bedrooms, beamed bars, restaurant and oak paneled lounge.Freshly prepared food is provided by the highly qualified chefs. Keeping up with modern trends, without ignoring the popularity of old favourites. Featured in major food guides the Gimmerton restaurant is open every evening. An extensive range of reasonably priced bar meals being available in the cosy bars, where real ales are prominent. Exceptional value breaks available both mid-week as well as weekends throughout the year.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really wanted to love this place, we had what we thought was a lovely meal here on Wednesday, only to find the next day that my husband contracted food poisoning from the "Tipsy Chicken". We are 100% this was the cause, the chicken was slightly pink in the middle but because it was covered in sauce we didn't notice until the last couple of bites at which point my husband continued to eat it as it apparently tasted okay and he had already eaten the rest. As well as the physical fact that the chicken was pink, I am vegetarian so we didn't eat any other meat during our holiday and only had toast, cake, cereal and pizza in the days previous (all eaten by myself too who has no symptoms, and all extremely unlikely to cause food poisoning). I contacted the restaurant via email to make them aware however was met with the old get-out "sorry to hear that you suspect it could possibly be because of our food". No acknowledgement that it was actually their fault, or offer of money back despite the last day of our holiday being completely ruined and my husband bed bound. They advised they would investigate but I'm not so sure, hopefully they do.

Excellent hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and the building was warm. Food plentiful and served hot on warm plates. Shame weather was not so good. Places of interest within walking distance, including Bronte Museum and a trip on the local heritage railway is a must.

We spent two nights while we visited the area. Our room was small, but not unexpected. Very clean and comfortable. Our favorite part of our stay was the pub. Excellent food and wonderful bartenders. Shout out to Joe! We took both of our suppers here and they were delicious. Breakfast each morning was a great start to our day.

Fantastic place. Came one night just for drinks and ended up staying a lot longer. The YPA is simply gorgeous and well pulled creamy head. Lovely atmosphere to chill out and have a chat over a pint. Went back last night to eat. Just wow!! Steak pie amazing, as is the fish and chips. So full afterwards had to walk it off. Brilliant place for drink, food and atmosphere. Staff fab too.

Staff were fine. The breakfast was wonderful. The room quite basic. Should be a 4 star review, but because of a complaint, I emailed the management before I left a review to offer them the opportunity to rectify it was ignored, this is only fair. They haven’t. I also always think the owner should respond to negative feedback on sites like this to reassure potential customers which they don’t do. The fact I haven’t had a reply to my courteous email, I won’t hold my breath they will reply on here either.

We have just got home from a lovely weekend, having stayed here. What can we say, other than it was wonderful! The staff were absolutely brilliant. The room we had had a lovely view. It had complimentary beverages with a kettle and water, shower gels, shampoos, soap, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The pillows were the fluffiest I've ever slept on...like putting your head on a cloud, and the mattress was ever so comfy. We had our evening meal there twice, and it didn't disappoint. The 'tipsy chicken' and steak pie was delicious, as was the breakfast 😋 The oldy, worldy feel of the inn was so comfortable and relaxing. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and made us feel welcome. We are missing it, already! Thanks to all of you for a very pleasurable stay. We are missing it, already. Cannot wait to visit again ❤️

Called in for a meal and a few drinks. Well what can I say, when we first arrived and asked if the lady if she had a table for us, she was quite rude and said we couldn't sit at one if the tables as the plates wouldn't fit on it ! I questioned how big the plates were ? Was she serving it on a family platter ? Anyway she then said we could sit down I'd we wanted !, she brought menus over and basically threw them on the table with attitude, said something under her breath while walking away ! She was very rude and if I she was working for me she would be out the door ! Then if that wasn't enough she stated on the people on the next table ! The women actually told her how very rude she was ! Then a lovely waitress called Lucy came over and took our order, she was very polite, smiling and couldn't do enough for us. Our meals took about 1hr to arrive. The steak pie was a delight! Could of done with more chips as there was only a few French fries on the plate. All in all a nice meal, apart from miss bossy, moody, rude woman with short hair ! You know who you are ! Lucy, you were the best most polite waitress there, keep up the good work. Just a shame you have to work with her ! .

Highly recommend. Vicky, Chris & all other staff members made us feel right at home. Went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We stayed in room 15 which was real nice and spacious. Breakfast (which was included) was delicious. Had a great time in the bar inside the hotel which was super cute and quaint with great beverage selections. Hope to return sometime

We came here yesterday evening for food and drinks. Its a lovely pub at the top of the highstreet and has a great ambience. It became very busy as the evening progressed and we were pleased that we had got a table early. The choice of food was good and very reasonably priced. There was a specials board too. My husband had lamb chops with mash and gravy which he said was delicious. I had a veggie lasagne which was also good. The staff were all friendly and very hard working. We will definitely return on our next visit to Haworth.
