Yes this is a clean, convenient, safe, and comfortable location with a good free breakfast, but how come I had to wait 7 minutes all by myself til someone came to the front desk to check me in. Certainly not up to HIE standards. the rest of the staff was not much better, particularly since English was a foreign language to them.

May well be better to go to another nearby HIE or even one of the the 6 million hotels in a 3 mile radius.

P.S. Where did all that traffic come from. Easier to get around downtown Atlanta than Alpharetta/Roswell.

We had a hard time finding a Hilton property on short notice, so ended up in this hotel. It shares a parking lot with a waffle house chain restaurant on a busy, main road. Very convenient to shopping, hwy 400, restaurants, wal-mart, movie theater.

The hotel rooms are clean. We had an issue with our first room, and had to be moved. But they handled it well. The second room was noisy only because the person above us got in very late and seemed to walk around a lot, then got up at 5am, and almost sounded like he was doing in-room jumping jacks (smile!).

My security program wouldn't let me connect to their free wi-fi - my iPhone could connect no problem...

The free breakfast is nice - pre-cooked food, yogurt, bananas, juice, cereal, coffee.
The staff was exceptionally nice.
The business center is just 2 computers and 1 broken, 1 working printer in a hallway (no door) - fie to print out boarding passes.
The indoor pool and hot tub looked nice and clean.

The exercise room was horrible, tho - really old, outdated, unsafe equipment (tremendous "slip" in the treadmills - made you feel very unstable when you walked fast, like you'd fall off - someone will get hurt) - the displays on the treadmills were broken (it showed my heart rate as 165 even tho there was no heart rate connection, very old "sears" quality equipment had a bunch of user-settings that you couldn't change, so can't see your own calories burned, etc). No towels to wipe the equipment down.

This is a cheap, lower end hotel in a convenient location - My $100/night rate seemed appropriate, although I really wish they'd buy newer equipment and add towels to the exercise room.

First the positives. The location is very quiet, no matter which part of the hotel.
The staff, particularly "Angel" were friendly, helpful and professional. The entrance to the hotel is very inviting, with a nice fireplace. The hallways and public areas seem pretty tidy, except overflowing exterior trash cans until late in the morning.

The rooms are ok. The furniture is kind of tired, with nicks, scrapes, and pieces of laminate broken off. The tv satellite reception was the worst. There was more pixelation and "no signal" messages than actual normal boadcast (strangely enough, the ones in the lobby and loung areas worked fine). The bathroom was kind of shabby, with the smallest toilet I have ever seen. It was like sitting on the floor. The surrounding caulking job and attendant repairs in there were pretty amateurish. Worst, the water was very slow to drain from the tub. During a normal 5 minute shower, it was up to ankle-depth. Could only imagine the drain crud and how long it had been since they were cleaned. Yuk. How much time and effort would it take to put some Drano down there regularly?

Breakfast was disappointing Coffee was barely lukewarm, ditto for the eggs and gravy on Sunday morning. A slight improvement on Monday, but not much. The attendants were uninterested at best. Attractive sitting area, with plenty of tables, though.

Next time in the Atlanta area, I would seek other accomodations.

The photos don’t show that it’s right next to a Waffle House lol but most importantly it’s quiet. There’s a lot of smoke downstairs (might be the smoking floor?) but we were on floor 2. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, both smelled FRESH. I booked everything through the IHG app. When it said let’s were ready they were. Front desk visit was brief but informative so that was cool. My bathroom was missing a shower curtain but I asked housekeeping for one and they got it immediately so that was quickly resolved. Close to the highway (GA-400) and Northpoint Mall. Not often you’ll find a rate at a good hotel for under $100 but this one was legit. Also, breakfast was perfect. Eggs, two types of sausage, pancakes, waffles, muffins, bagels, and their water/coffee was available all day. I’d stay again.

How can you have the hotel open when basic amenities are not in the room, we have to buy shampoo, soap, moisture as the hotel was out of it...Serious no towel or room cleaning as they had no cleaning staff, we got swim pool towels after the first night. Nightmare experience, last stay in any HolidayInn Express.

Many of the guests do not wear masks at HIE Alpharetta-Roswell. And why should they when the front desk staff are not wearing a mask. I was checked in and out by a mask free employee. There are signs saying guests are required to wear a mask and there is a "pledge" that employees will wear a mask when interacting with customers. So much for the pledge at this location. It makes sense the guests will not wear a mask if the employees refuse to do so.

My experience at this HIE was in sharp contrast to the supermarkets in the area where all employees are wearing a mask and 95+% of the customers are. If you lead by example, the customers will follow.

On the bright side, my room was clean, quiet and modern. The location is excellent, near 400 but far enough away to be quiet. I avoided the lobby including breakfast to avoid the maskless crowd. Also it was not a grab and go breakfast which does not make sense during these difficult times.

As per the hotel website:

What you can expect during your stay

Face masks required for guests in public areas

There is nothing worse in a hotel than a dirty hotel. Their excuse: short staffed. The reality, their actitud says: we don’t care.
At check in, didn’t offer welcome points, didn’t greet as platinum member, barely said welcome.
We arrived to the room, and could see a dirty bed cover, not working safe, and lack of maintenance. Got to breakfast in the morning, ran out of pancakes, cinnamon buns, took them more than 10 minutes to refill eggs. 8:45, breakfast was till 9:30. Was it crowded? No, regular saturday with people, not an empty room, a very small breakfast room by the way.
Complained about the room, and a clogged toilet. This was taken care during breakfast.
Got back 10 pm. Room not cleaned, hallway to the room, with bags of trash, cereal in the floor, very dirty.
Complain again… answer: we might be short staffed, maybe cleaning didn’t came today.
The rest or our party, got here a day earlier. 2 days in a row no cleaning.
I’ve been to many HIExpress in different countries. By far the worse.

The front desk staff is awesome. I was greeted by a very friendly person as soon as I walked in the door. The morning desk clerk, Alexus, was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and neat. The hotel is right off the highway and easy to get to. There are gas stations and restaurants very close by. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Holiday inn express is always a good choice. They are modern, clean, quiet, and safe. Nice pool and workout room. And free hot breakfast. This one is at the end of the main strip in Roswell so easy to get to the shops and museum. It is just off of the highway when you get into town from the north.

Stayed one night, August 23rd. First room provided smelled musty. Pulled back sheets to find what looked like a dead cockroach. Front desk person (nice man) provided my family with a different room.

Next morning, manager apologized for previous evening. Told us they would give us a discounted rate for the previous evening. Just noticed on my cc bill, it never happened. Dishonest.

Needless to say, will never return.
