Nice hotel that was excellent value for money. Very clean and all the staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent with freshly baked pastries etc. There is a bus stop across the road but we used the Metro to get into the main centre. The station was a 15 minute walk from the hotel and then just a 10 minute journey to the Colosseum. The negatives are limited choice on the menu for an evening meal and not the best views from the hotel room

Pro’s; - 5 minute walk from a metro station point - Bathroom is functional, clean and has a window so demisting is easy! Powerful shower too - Kingsize bed instead of two pushed together (standard double room) - Ample wardrobe room and full length mirror - Lobby is clean and artsy - Staff aren’t over the top! They are approachable and kind and helpful - It is a perfect stop base for exploring - Internet is free regardless of device amounts (see cons) - Kettle and Mini Fridge available on request, Cash vending machine in hallways - Small supermarket (called Pam) 5 min walk away - Easy taxi and Uber collection outside the door - Secure room for your luggage pre check in - Taxi to Trevi fountain - €14-€16 - Taxi/Uber to Airport - €20-€30 - Bidet with towels Cons; - Don’t pay for a room with a view, you can have 3 buildings or a road - The room is old, there’s cracks etc but it’s clean! A chair on our room looked suspicious but we move on. - When booking you’ll see no mention of €7.50 tourist fee per day! There is a sign at the desk upon booking in however - Most Rome flights feature morning arrival, check in is at 2pm sharp and no earlier, no negotiations. - Internet and 5G is awful quality, recommend downloading Netflix bits before coming (TV has 1 UK channel and its BBC news!) - Breakfast looked awful albeit we didn’t try it, I would opt out and go explore locally - Bidet with towels - Aircon is locked so you can’t turn it on and it wasn’t user friendly

Positives - Location was good , near everything. Staff were really friendly and helpful with everything asked for. We had a massive balcony. Shower was nice powerful and warm bed got made everyday Negatives- We had a disabled bathroom in our room and was filthy - towels were left on floor from people before. Was just disgusting. Bed was really uncomfortable like rock hard. Breakfast was average. Tv had hardly any channels. Our air-con unit bleeped and flashed all night one night. Area was bit dodgy . Road was neglected almost.

Stayed here with friends beginning of January. Very much enjoyed our stay - staff were fab, room was lovely and the choice for breakfast was large. We took the bus into Rome center ( bus stop just a few minutes walk away and they run very frequently). Plenty of restaurants around the area. Shout out to the lady (days) and gentleman ( nights) on reception - I'm sorry I can't remember your names but you were both extremely helpful and kind with your recommendations of places to eat in the local area and directions. City tax does need to be paid but that goes for all cities in all countries so please take that into account it's not the hotels fault.

Hotel was nice , close to metro which takes you to the city etc. However , got charged a €60 tax fee when checking out which was never mentioned or highlighted when booking ! Very upsetting and disappointing after a good week.

My partner and I booked this hotel expecting 4 star quality. What we received wasn’t what we would call a 4 star experience. We booked a triple room for the 2 of us (I think that was due to availability) and we stayed for 7 nights. When we arrived the hotel staff were lovely, got us checked in and we went on our merry way, the decor in the lobby was tasteful and everything was clean, as expected. When we walked into our room we were immediately greeted by scuffed walls and floors, and dirt foot prints and marks on the walls, most of which would take all of a few minutes to wipe off. The room was otherwise clean and the beds were made beautifully. The bathroom was beautiful and spotless. We discovered to our disappointment that there were no chairs on the balcony and only one chair in the entire room, which was designed to sleep 3 people. Because of this we were unable to relax in our room without sitting in bed which isn’t always the most comfortable place to sit. The breakfast was great, but the way the food/drinks were laid out did mean that whenever there was a small queue for the coffee machine it was hard to get juice or water, or even a plate to get some food. The bar/restaurant opening times were a bit disappointing, opening 6-10 Sunday-Thursday meant that they lost quite a bit of business from us as many times after returning to the hotel from eating dinner out we would have liked to had a drink or two at the bar, but couldn’t as the restaurants in Rome typically don’t open till 7-7:30 as such we would often return to the hotel after the bar had closed. Overall, our experience was a little lack lustre, the bed was comfortable enough and the bathroom was nice even if the shower didn’t drain quite quick enough. But there were a few key things missing and a number of details that led us to believe that the 4 star status wasn’t deserved. It also would have been nice to have been warned somewhere on the hotel site when we booked or when we checked in about the increase in the tourist tax in Italy. We were fortunate to be in a position to afford it without worry but an active forewarning about it (not just a small sign on the front desk with lots of text) would have been nice.

We recently stayed in this hotel on our visit to Rome. For me this wasn’t a 4 star hotel. The room was out dated and I had to ask for a fridge to be put into my room. The aircon was also next to useless, I’ve never been to a hotel where I have to ask them to out the aircon on for me from reception? The breakfast was also pretty below par. I was expecting there to be nice fresh fruit, and juices but there’s only a few pastries and the only cooked items are scrambled egg and some sort of bacon. The area is not great, but if you’re planning on going to the city centre it’s not to bad, there is a “metro” line about a 20 minute walk away. The hotel workers seemed to be nice, we had no issues with them and they did help us when we needed help.

I booked this place with after looking up proximity to things to do and restaurants but unfortunately none of it is true. I arrived at the hotel 1pm yo check in but they they won't make exception to their check-in rule, their restaurant was closed, I asked if there was a place to eat nearby they directed me to walk East or west I did but after 30 minutes of walking in the hot August sun I gave up, no food or drink and walked back. Finally check-in on came they came and the gave me a room with very stained carpets which I refused to accept. They changed it and downgraded me telling me that's all they had. Found out they had a general carpet issue except some areas are just a t bit better. The amenities are just 2 star rated amenities. No robe or bath shoes On my last night, a staff demanded he saw my key card before I went in the hotel. I was so shocked. I knew it was a racial thing right away because I didn't see him asking anyone else coming in for their key card. That was a very disgusting behavior for someone in hospitality industry. I've stayed at better accommodations in Rome and this one is my least favorite!

So, we stay for 4nights,perfect location near the city center, 1-2 mins to the bus station and there about 15mins to the famous places so there you start saving money for other nice spendings. About the room, bed was big and comfy but pillows thin and a bit hard.Outside was 30+degrees and there was no fridge in our room so if you want to have your own cold during after a long day then is a problem (there was empty space where could be a little fridge) lv set to not read any devices so if you prepered to watch something with your USB don't count for it.Our room has balcony but hasn't got the doors to get in there. Breakfast was nice, just no even one vegetable on the table so that was very strange. Staff friendly and helpful speaking English enough to help you.but stay was fair for the price.

We stayed here July 26th through to August 3rd. I can say that we have no complaints as the staff and management were welcoming and so very helpful. We flew in from Canada, had our transfer arranged and arrived about an hour and a half prior to check-in. The front desk staff greeted us kindly and communicated very well in Italian, as well as English. The front desk processed our check-in, copied our passports, showed us where we could access washrooms facilities and also where we could store our luggage securely. We were offered suggestions of where we could have lunch, but instead we went for a walk in a nearby park. We returned at the 2pm check in time, but the room wasn’t quite ready. There was a comfortable lobby and we were on vacation so it wasn’t a concern of ours. The short delay should be expected as there are so many international travellers arriving early and it was clear while we were there, each traveller is given individual attention. We waited about 15 minutes in the air conditioned lobby and then we were given our keys. The room was smaller than expected, but the photos online are accurate. It met my needs and was absolutely spotless! I had written ahead of time and requested a refrigerator as well as a balcony. As confirmed weeks prior, both requests were met. Air conditioned room was a nice feature, water pressure was excellent as well as hot water. Please know the television is limited especially for those that do not speak Italian, but after all, it is Italy so we expected this and ensured we had Netflix, utube, etc since the wifi is free and the password is displayed at the front desk. There is a programmable safe which was easy to use. There are certain features that only work when the room card is inserted, but this is common in many countries and it is a step towards conserving energy. It did not impact our refrigerator, room temperature or essentials by removing the key and it was a heat wave when I was in Rome. The restaurant was delightful for a night we didn’t want to venture out. Service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Bottle of wine and meal was delicious. Be aware whatever you order will be charged to your room so guests will not be paying after you are finished. Although we had breakfast included with our stay, we never actually attended it so I can not comment on it. Travel for us around the city was easy enough. I bought the 7 day unlimited transportation pass at the metro so we could use any city transportation while we were there. We took the metro which was about 20 minutes walk and used it for site seeing, dining, and shopping. Very efficient once we learned the routes and very quick once on the metro. We did not take other options like the bus. The few taxis I took were arranged quickly by requesting 1 from the front desk and finding a taxi stand to come back. The location is in a neighbourhood requiring transportation arrangements to get around. The biggest awareness for any traveller would be 2 things. The walls are paper thin, so any noise will be heard in the room. A white noise machine, ear plugs, or anything like that would be advised for a light sleeper. Also, there is a fee when you check out. I did all my research ahead of time so I knew I would be paying it, but some travellers seemed surprised. To avoid disappointment, I wanted to mention these. Value and service, I would say the Caravel was a good fit.
