The hotel itself stood out form the rest of the city as it was 31 floors. You could see some snow fall and it was marvelous. The hotel itself was quite a big structure with a souvenir shop and bakery inside it. There were multiple restaurants to choose from. The food was delicious and the view of the room marvelous. Although the room was a bit small, it was well cleaned and sterilized (although a bit too sterilized). The beds were comfortable and there were many channels on the television. It was sad to leave the hotel only after 2 days. I could’ve spent days there. The pictures below are views of Sapporo from the windows.

The hotel is a very short walk from Shin-Sapporo station but beware it is not directly connected. If you have luggage and there is snow on the ground outside it can be a little difficult to get there.

Everything else was fine with the hotel. We stayed in a japanese style room which was basic but allowed for a very comfortable one night sleep.

Breakfast on the 31/F was surprisingly good with outstanding views of the city.

The staff were courteous.

This hotel is not in downtown Sapporo. However, it is unexpectedly convenient to go to downtown by subway or by train or by bus (just takes about 10 minutes) and in fact, there are a very good number of shops and restaurants nearby so that you do not necessarily need to go to downtown for shopping or for food. The hotel itself is full of excellent amenities and is attached with a beautiful wedding church. The food at the breakfast is very good and the service is good too.
The room is spacious enough and the price is reasonable. Good value for money. Quite a pleasant surprise.

The Sheraton Sapporo is located about fifteen minutes (by train or subway) from central Sapporo, one block from the Shin-Sapporo station. It is very close to several large department stores and a lively shopping area.

The hotel is modern, efficient, well maintained and strives to provide excellent services, although there were glitches with one of my two last stays. (I was not given the level of room Starwood Hotels Reservations had indicated.) The staff is quite pleasant, and in a sincere way, too.

The rooms are pleasant, of average size and very well appointed. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, and could set the gold standard for other hotels. The housekeeping was quite good, but I found the many spots on the carpet of both rooms I stayed in a little annoying. In that this is a 30 floor hotel served by only 4 passenger elevators, there was sometimes a wait for service.

There are multiple restaurants on site. Judging from the main floor's restaurant and the Japanese restaurant, they provide good but not exceptional fare. The Japanese restaurant has wonderful views of the city. You can elect to have your breakfast here if you like. The bar on the top floor also has a good view, but I found it too smokey to linger. There is also a Chinese restaurant and an Italian restaurant on-site, but I have not yet tried them.

Pehaps the most notable feature of the Sheraton Sapporo is the excellent health spa in the B1 level. It is robustly equipped with multiple hot/warm/cold soaking tubs, a huge jacuzzi, sauna, steam and cold rooms, massage service and a spacious refreshment lounge. The spa is scrupulously clean and surprisingly spacious. I found the spa to be a soothing and restful way to end a busy day.

The hotel provides access to the Internet for JPY 1300/day. It is easy to access and fast and reliable.

The hotel is located on the airport's rapid train line and is quite convenient if you are just coming to or leaving Hokkaido. But it is located well away from the central business district and requires another 15 minutes or so of easy train or subway commute.

All in all, I will happily return to the Sheraton Sapporo for future visits to Hokkaido.

Stayed at this hotel during a family vacation. First, the negative. The hotel is located quite a bit from downtown Sapporo. The hotel is located right next to a train station and I was told that by train, it was a pretty short ride into downtown. I drove instead and it took a good 30 minutes (or more with traffic). To play golf at some of the great golf courses just outside of Sapporo, however, it can be better because it is closer to the golf courses. There is nothing much to do in the area immediate to the hotel.

The rooms were very clean and functional. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about. The rooms all had very nice views as the hotel is the only tall building in the area. The bathrooms are a bit small for international standards (but average for Japanese standards).

The food at the restaurant is pretty good. Breakfast service was very efficient.

The best part of the hotel is the fabulous service. The front desk staff was very welcoming (even for Japanese standards) and cheerful. We needed three rooms and the front desk made every effort to have the three rooms be on the same floor. They also upgraded one of the rooms so that the baby crib that we needed would fit more comfortably into the room. When we asked for restaurant reservations, without our even asking, the staff went out of their way to make reservations for us and place special requests for our meal order for us (because we don't speak Japanese).

The friendly staff left a great impression on us. If a downtown location is not a must, I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights in a comfortable room on the 23rd floor - so had a good view. A buffet breakfast was included as my husband is SPG Platinum. The hotel is a very short walk to the Shin Sapporo station which is an easy ride to downtown Sapporo, or to the airport 30 minutes away - one tip - book a seat for the return journey as the airport train is full by the time it reaches Shin Sapporo. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay.

For my 4th trip to Sapporo, I stayed at this hotel and I am unsure why I have to endure the distance from Sapporo and picked this hotel.

LOCATION : This hotel is in Shin Sapporo, a suburb away from Sapporo and the major tourist centres of JR Tower and Susukino. It costs Y4000 by taxi to get from hotel to these places. There is also JR connection from Shin Sapporo station to Sapporo but if you have 3 persons, it might cost up to Y1500 each way by express train. The hotel is around 5 minutes walk from the JR station and a multi-complex of shopping malls. Yet, to walk the distance with luggage is another matter. The hotel is en route for the JR Rapid Express from Sapporo to New Chitose airport. (I suggest one to get tickets with assigned seats as the section with unassigned seats might be full by the way it gets to Shin Sapporo).

ROOMS: The rooms are small and average in terms of comfort and luxury, compared to similarly priced hotels in the centre of Sapporo.

SERVICE : Not superior but not worse than other hotels in Sapporo. There are quite a lot of overseas workers in this hotel.

BREAKFAST : There is choices of Buffet, Japanese and Chinese style breakfast. All are excellent but not superior to other similar priced hotels in Sapporo.

FACILITIES: The hotel is 5 star in appearance and layout and has several restaurants. There aren't much in terms of facilities apart from a spa.

I keep asking myself why I booked this hotel, especially since it is not cheaper than more conveniently located hotels in Sapporo. I suppose the free day trip they offer to Asahiyama zoo is the only reason I can think of. The hotel itself offers nothing else to warrant staying all the way in this faraway suburb.

Many people (not us) have taken for granted that this hotel is located at Sapporo and alighted at the Sapporo JR station, only to be redirected to Shin Sapporo subsequently! Though it is located at Shin Sapporo, going to downtown Sapporo is a breeze with both the JR and subway just a stone throw away. Its also very convenient to travel to New Chitose Airport (about 30mins), however not if one has got big luggages and travelling in winter. Surrounding the hotel are a few interconnected shopping malls.

The room we stayed was of reasonable size (nice enough for 2A1C to manoeuvre around comfortably) and well maintained. As it is one of the few tall buildings, the room has nice views of the surrounding. Ask for an air humidifier, comes in very handy for winter nights and its complimentary!

Hotel staff speak very good English, cheery and are polite.

The hotel is really good value for money with high level of service standard and good amenities (though we didn't use any).

The hotel is just a couple of minutes from Shin-Sapporo station which itself is a 20 minute subway ride to the centre of Sapporo, or about 10 minutes on the JR line. It's convenient to get to from New Chitose Airport - less than 1/2 hour on the train.

The hotel is clean and smart and we got a free upgrade to a room on the 26th floor with a great view. Nice comfy beds!

There are a few restaurants in the hotel but didn't try any of them though they seemed popular. There is also an instore bakery to grab a quick breakfast bite if needed.

Staff were very helpful but my only gripe was a charge to use the spa. I guess having stayed in mostly Japanese style hotels/ryokans with public baths this came as a surprise. It was back to Western style with a charge for everything!

This hotel is right next to an MRT station that takes to you the heart of Sapporo. The service team is typical Japanese ( Ever friendly and ready for services ) Right across the street is a small mall with great food and an AEON store.
