Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
Friendly, helpful staff. Motel was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a little sparse: dry cereal, waffles, coffee and juice. Parking was adequately lighted. We would stay there again.

(Stayed April 22-24) This hotel is a good hotel you can spend a few days at. The outside needs some renovations but on the inside ITS REALLY NICE. The morning and night clerks were amazing people. The room was a great room. 1 con is that the bathroom tile was cracked and needs to be replaced. Overall, the hotel is a great place to stay. One other thing they have no fitness center. The bathroom had no fan to get all that evaporated water out but we survived. One funny thing we couldn’t find the blind but we found it the next day lol. Thanks Quality Inn for an amazing stay.

This hotel was dirty from the front door on. It smelled of smoke. The queen bed, although very comfortable, had a full size fitted sheet so it would not stay on the bed. The floors in the room seemed to have cookie or cracker crumbs everywhere. The only positive thing was a comfortable bed.

The first room we were given smelt of smoke, we then were given a room that smelt fousty, the bathroom was thick with grime, and worst of all the floors were filthy. My son had white socks on, he walked to the bathroom and back, they were BLACK by the time he got back to the beds. My 3 year old woke up, walked across the room and the same thing happened, it was sickening. The common areas weren't much better, there were Q-tips in the stairwell, a broken off fake nail, and part of a weave was caught in the stairs. As others have mentioned, there is a strong smell of marijuana in the area. I am still disgusted at having stayed there with my three children.

The one star should not be a rating. Stayed at the hotel because of the close proximity of graduation venue. A total of 5 rooms were booked and I personally had 3 of the 5 that I paid for. The family and I checked into the rooms after 9pm and upon checking into the rooms there were problems with the key cards and smelly rooms among other mishaps (all on the same floor). As we got off the elevator there was a foul smell of marijuanna. Room 1 was very stuffy with mildew & smoke smell and to add fuel, a pillow had been used as an astray (ashes on pillow) leaving ashes on the floor and the bed, in addition to there being spillage-brown stains on the mattress. Room 2 had a spider crawling on the mattress, where as room 3 was overwhelmed with the smelly smoke smell. Although the night clerk upgraded 2 of the 3 rooms to a suite, 1 of the rooms had a surprise by the microwave (a bong). I took a picture of the element and informed the desk clerk of the disappointment. She stated management would be available later in the a.m. and would contact me. Here we are on the 3rd day and no contact from management regarding my finding on Thursday or Friday night. I'm disappointed because this was a family gathering and had there been other variables to take place at the hotel that night, I or either a family would have been caught in the mix😳👀😞

The hotel is fine and they seem to be making improvements. HOWEVER: There are over 150 TV channels, which is good. The problem is the remote. The first channel is 7-2 and the last is 112-4. Notice the hyphens. Weird. If you want a channel in the middle, say Nickelodeon (45-3), you literally have to push the up button about 75 times to get to it from 7-2 or the down button to get to it from 112-4. Nothing else works. I asked. Every channel is hyphenated. Channel 45 is nothing. You can't start there either. Push the up button from there and you get channel 112-4. Down button takes you to 7-2. The number buttons might as well not even be there. I am sure that there are remotes that are made to work this type of cable (Spectrum the front desk thinks). Get those remotes or get a different provider. My cable company (not Spectrum or whatever you have) has a guide button on the remote. You can check out what is on, find something you like and one click takes you to it. Get that. This provider doesn't even have a channel guide much less tell you what's on or have a select button. The hotel doesn't even provide a channel list in the room. You can and should fix this. I'm a frequent traveler Choice Hotel Diamond Member and I have not seen this anywhere else. It's a poor Choice. I hope you enjoyed the pun.

The hotel is decent and most of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. Except for the manager, Martha. I booked a one night stay through Booking.com for a good price. En route to Birmingham, circumstances changed and I called the hotel directly to say we actually needed to stay a few more nights. At that point I wasn't sure how many (we were awaiting the birth of our grandchld). I asked the desk clerk if we could have the room at the same rate as the first night. She was very agreeable and booked us for two more nights. Alas, I did not check to make sure of the rate. We got in a 1 am and were gone the next two days most of the day so I did not follow up as I should have--I just trusted that everything was okay. I found out on Sunday morning that they were charging us double the rate of the first night! When I objected they told me that it was more because of the weekend. However, no one told me the rate would be doubled after I specifically asked for the same rate. I went round and round with the manager, Martha, but she was almost rude to me and wouldn't budge. She said I would have to call Booking.com. Why? Booking.com is not the one charging me a outrageous rate. I will never stay there again as long as Martha is the manager. She also posted some disparaging remarks on another web site saying I was displeased with everything, which is not true. I did complain because the wi-fi would not work most of the time in our room and I was trying to work on my laptop. No one could seem to fix that. If they advertise wi-fi, I feel they should provide a service that works.

Stayed here two nights. Clean room. Was right next to elevator, but I never heard it! Comfy bed. Breakfast area was pretty good, but on the second morning, someone burnt their toast in the toaster and set off the fire alarm. Friendly staff. Parking area seemed a little small, though I never had a problem finding a good spot. Area seems safe. Chick-Fil-A is next door as well as Circle K convenience store, lots of other restaurants in vicinity. Getting out of hotel and back onto US 280 is a little tricky.

Our room was clean and the breakfast was good. We left a bag containing toiletries, food items and my jewelry. It wasn’t until we were in Gulf Shores that we realized this. The hotel called, told us they had found it when cleaning the room. They kindly took it to a UPS facility where we were able to arrange to have it packed and shipped to us. Very grateful and thankful for how conscientious they were!!
