The resort was beautiful, but as others has posted, the cost of food and drinks were outrageous. Tip: you can rent a small refrigerator for $25 for your stay. You must rent a car; we didn't and had to take a taxi (expensive). We took a taxi to the local store and bought beer and soda's and put them in... more

GOOD: Beautiful area. Minutes from the rainforest. Nice hotel service staff. Mostly clean rooms. BAD: Tried to refuse to honor the vacation package we had pre-purchased. High pressure timeshare sales presentations invoking 9/11 and dead parents. Pricey food and drinks. We bought a 3-night vacation package through the Wyndham Vacation Resorts (WVR) for roughly $120/night and bought two extra nights... more

The Wyndham is a nice enough resort, but really average for what you'd expect anywhere in the Carribean. The pools are nice, the rooms are fine, the casino is tiny, and the restaurants are ok. The issue with this property is their prices and their attitudes toward guests. After having spent a good sum reserving the room, flights and rental... more

Overall: The resort was beautiful, and the grounds were gorgeous. I can't say that any of us would recommend this hotel, as it did not leave an impression that would bring us back. One thing we were disappointed on was there was no essence of Puerto Rico anywhere in the resort. We expected to see local artwork, or even local... more

Let me start by saying that the current state of the ecomomy has impacted travel as a whole and the resorts are feeling it badly. This resort was only 40% occupied during our visit. This resulted in the resort closing some of its restaurants. So with that being said, its almost a must to rent a car to enjoy some... more

As Wyhdham time share owners, the Rio Mar Resort lived up to our expectations. The service experienced form all employees was attentive to our needs and quite genuine which was a huge plus for us. Our room was a standard hotel room, but we will say both of the queen beds were very comfortable. Flat screen TV was nice even... more

The cons: -VERY PRICEY!!! the food was extremely expensive and tasted average... nothing spectacular...some of the wraps were down right wrong.....even the puerto rican dishes were not any better than the ones in new york.....maybe except for the churrasco... definitely not worth the price... the room service will drain your wallet... do not order room service... For example: a can... more

Beautiful hotel, with clean, spacious rooms, helpful staff, beautiful pool and private beach. Definitely a great place to go with the family. Check-in was a little disorganized, but partly because it was the Easter Holidays, one of the busiest times of the year. We did get upgraded the next day, however, for the inconvenience caused. The food at the resort... more

The resort was a true vacation for us. We did not know what to expect when we arrived. But when we walked in the resort sold its self. The food and drinks were expensive, but the service was wonderful. The location of the resort is 45 minutes from the airport but it is a true get-a-way. We recomment you take... more

My husband and I went with our two small children (2 and 4) to the resort for 4 nights/5 days at the end of April. We rented a car so we could have them in car seats. It was an easy ride from the airport (although over an hour for the car rental process at Enterprise!). Also, I had read... more
