Fabulous break at The Pheasant Inn. Lovely comfortable room, fantastic dinner and breakfast and a great location for exploring The Lake District. The spa passes (for nearby Armathwaite Hall) are a real bonus.

The Pheasant Inn is very conveniently placed between Keswick and Cockermouth in a quiet setting. The accommodation was warm, welcoming and comfortable. Our room was of a high standard. The food and drink was excellent and added to the pleasure of our stay. The adjacent Nature reserve with all-weather boardwalks was beautiful. Very close to Bassenthwaite Lake, the hotel is well placed to explore the varied Lakeland surroundings by car, bike and on foot.

Room freezing cold. Bathroom even colder. Told staff and given a dirty duvet with no duvet cover. Also not comfortable with a male member of staff entering my room and closing door. Both doors at either end of corridors wedged open to the outside making it both cold and a security issue Don't stay in room 21 Food over priced There are much better options in the area.

Overall a very good experience. But the cooked food could have been hotter. Also in our room, the window was faulty, and we couldn’t shut it properly. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. There are also good parking facilities available.

What a fantastic place to stay! We were visiting the area as spectators to The Malcolm Wilson rally and we were fortunate to stay at The Pheasant for the night - yes, fortunate - a very warm welcome, beautiful room and ensuite, we had room 7 " Grizedale", and lovely food. A great night's sleep, comfy bed and very quiet. A major plus was how convenient it was for spectating, with the first stage on the Saturday morning just a short walk from the garden of the Pheasant up into the woods!! We would highly recommend anyone to stay here at anytime of year. Hopefully we will be back 😁

Good stay overall. Room was relatively small but none the less comfortable and more than adequate. Food and general service good and the Loweswater beer particularly well kept. Would recommend for any short break.

The Pheasant has been a special place for our family for over 50 years. It is so good to see that, despite the recent renovations, the hotel retains the charming ambience. The old bar is so beautiful! We had great service, a good sleep and lovely meals...in fact, we enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay.

This Inn has a strong ambiance of being part of a chain of hotels. It does not give a 'unique to the Lake District' experience. It was comfortable and clean but not especially welcoming. The evening meals were good. Breakfasts were adequate. We would consider staying again for a work trip but probably not a vacation.
