Excellent rooms with great facilities. The staff were so accommodating - we arrived late by train and they offered to make any sandwiches we wanted, with tea/coffee, juice, biscuits etc etc. Fantastic setting with immediate access to walks either down to the lake with a church next to it or up the mountain right next to the lodge. They say... More

Excellent room with massive walkers breakfasts made with top quality local ingredients. Home made bread with delicious homemade soup for dinner very memorable. Lovely deep bath and unlimited hot water. 32" tv. All staff very friendly and helpful. The bus stop is at the end of the drive and enabled us to do linear walks. A great place to stay... More

What stands out at Ravenstone Lodge is the warmth with which you are received and continue to receive during your stay. Special mentions have to go to Mike, Jane and Anthony, I have only stayed twice yet I feel an ease as if I have known them for many years - which I hope I do! How many owners would... More

We booked a last minute stay for one night on 7/2/12 as the price was good and the reviews were great. We were most definately not disapointed. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and at home by the staff and especially Mike the owner, who could not have been more helpful and friendly. The room we were... More

We stopped over at Ravenstone Ldoge for a two-day midweek break last week. It was great! The hotel is located just off the A591 past Dodd Wood, with Skiddaw watching over it. There was ample parking and a warm welcome from the owner, who helped us with our bags to the room. The room didn't have the best of views... More

I booked this 2 night break as a Christmas present to my boyfriend and we weren't disappointed! We had room no.9 which was huge and very modern and clean - the bathroom was fantastic, having the choice of a hot bath after a days walking was fab! The food was tremendous, although we didn't sample the evening meal I'm sure... More

We were upgraded to an enormous room with a 6 foot sleigh bed and a huge bathroom (room 9). The views were lovely and the food and the welcome were excellent. Would love to stay again. More

We had a really warm welcome from the owner of the lodge when we arrived late on Friday night. He was friendly and helpful, offering advice for the walk we were planning for the following day. This was a last minute booking for us, so we were not sure what to expect, but the lodge itself was beautiful and quirky... More

A stunning backdrop, and accommodation to match! You feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door, and like you are leaving home and don't want to when you finish your stay. Thanks to Mike & co for a fantastic experience - wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as the best in the area for comfort and peace. A great... More
