We found this place through the welcome center in Saulte. Ste. Marie. What a lovely area! The owners offer great hospitality and excellent food. The rooms overlooked Batchawanna Bay and were well kept. We spent two nights at the Lake Shore Resort, from July 30 until August 1, 2009. The Elsigan family were very helpful and friendly. Our quaint housekeeping studio was clean, comfortable and well equipped with a small kitchen and fridge. The comfortable mattress was much appreciated. The Salzburger Hof has a spectacular view of Batchawana Bay -- that alone is worth a visit. The resort is dated, but immaculate. I was lucky enough to accompany two individuals on their vacation this past September. One of whom had been going almost yearly with his family. I found it by chance looking for a place to stay overnight near Sault Ste Marie. I wasn't disapointed. Slightly off the main route (by 5 km), the property is in a splendid location, at the shore of the Lake Superior. We rented a studio, clean and spacious. This was my first time staying at Lake Shore Salzburger Hof Resort, but it will certainly not be my last. I brought two children under 3 years of age with me and we all enjoyed ourselves.
