AGAIN this is for the restaurant only. We have eaten there on a few occassions and the food is good so is the service. However be prepared to pay London prices. The drinks are also very expensive. We now feel it has outpriced itself and wont be returning more

This review is restricted to the restaurant as we did not stay in the hotel. You start in an impressive traditionally furnished lounge for pre-dinner drinks and are then guided into the restaurant where the décor of a quite different age. The venetian blinds place it in the 60’s. The food was adequate. My casserole was a little over seasoned... more

My boyfriend and I stayed there for one night as we drove through Speyside. First of all, I cannot say enough about the hospitality. Alan and Jane and their entire staff were, in a word, marvelous. They provided a warm, genine environment from the moment we stepped into the property and it continued until we left. We had a lovely... more

I would echo the previous reviewers' comments regarding the excellence of the Archiestown Hotel. The proprietors , Alan and Jane Hunter, are marvellous hosts - genuinely offering the best service, together with excellent cuisine. A very friendly atmosphere exists between the guests in the comfortable lounges - this adds to the pleasure of being at Archiestown. I would recommend this... more

My friend and I who were walking the Speyside Way over 4 days opted to use the Archiestown Hotel as our base for two nights - an inspired decision. After walking 17 miles a day it was wonderful to relax in the sumptious comfort of the lounge and enjoy a well earned tipple or two; followed by the superb food... more

My husband and I spent two nights at the Archiestown Hotel in May. We absolutely loved this hotel. We arrived late on Friday evening and although the kitchen was closed, the staff was kind enough to put together a delicous cheese platter for us, which we enjoyed in the sitting room with some wine. The bedrooms were cute and comfortably... more

This is an exceptional Small Country Hotel, set in the midst of the Malt Whisky Trail and in beautiful countryside. My stay was too short - only three days - and I'd recommend a week if possible to appreciate Speyside and the hotel. Very comfortable bedroom recently re-decorated and quiet lounges with the sort of sofas one just sinks into.... more

Everyone involved at Archiestown is enthusiastic, professional and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the lounge areas are elegant, yet cosy, with sumptuous sofas, restful lamps and crackling log fires. The hotel sits on a tiny village square with glorious Speyside countryside all around and beautiful beaches from Lossiemouth to Nairn are within easy driving distance. All... more
