We stayed in 20 B&Bs en route from Lands End to John O'Groats, and were only at Moor House for 1 night, arriving quite late. Furnishings etc were second to none, breakfast was excellent, service was fine, bathroom was only separate one we had. Downsides were that room was smaller than average with some noise/lights from road, price was second...

Maria and Joe were very welcoming and did all they could to give us a nice break. The accommodation was immaculately clean and well appointed. Moor House is almost opposite the start of the Portreath Tramway, coast-to-coast walk. I would not recommend the 'Country Room' if you are very tall (6 feet or over) due to sloping ceilings. Overall I'm...

Clearly very house proud owners as moor house is immaculate. Breakfast was great, Jo & Maria warm & welcoming. We felt more like house guests than b&b guests

I had expected (not sure why) Portreath to be a nice small village but it hasn't much to recommend it. There are plenty of much nicer coastal villages/beaches nearby. Moor House is about 800m from the SW Coast path. It is not obvious where it is so make sure you get good directions before you arrive there. We asked several...

Moor House and its attached gardens is lovely as are Maria & Jo who run the B&B; very friendly and extremely helpful couple. The breakfasts are simply wonderful! Our only disappointment was the shared bathroom facilities; at £80 a night (per couple) for B&B I expect en-suite facilities in this day and age.
Portreath itself is small and reasonably quiet,...

We are very happy that this visitor had a good experience in Portreath and at Moor House. As with many quite old properties, it is impossible to build ensuite facilities into existing rooms. We do have two bathrooms and provide robes for guest use. When all three guestrooms are not booked, the bathrooms are private. Only on occasions when all...

Having regularly used B&B accomodation for almost 50 years, we counted ourselves lucky to have found Moor House this year.We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed by our hosts with tea & biscuits. We would have preferred an en-suite facility, but with bath robes provided & our own private bathroom, this was not a problem. There was an excellent selection on the breakfast...

We loved this bed and breakfast. Lots of little welcoming touches, like fresh flowers, tea, coffee and biscuits in all the rooms. Maria and Joe were very friendly and made us feel , at home from the start. Fantastic breakfast! Lots of choice and large helpings if you wanted it. Wonderful large garden to enjoy. The room was large and...

We came to Cornwall for our friends wedding. We booked Moor House months before (others were booked cos surfing competition)and we received a v nice letter saying we will feel like at home there. We arrived on Friday evening and were v nice welcome. House was nice and owners helpful. We went to the beach and came back at 11pm...

We are deeply sorry that this couple had a less than positive experience at Moor House. We were made aware of the feelings of this guest and did not charge them for the second or third nights of their stay with us.
Bed and breakfasts are, for the most part, private homes and do not operate in the same manner...

Moor House is a very nice house, well-groomed and comfortable.
Mrs. and Mr. Urban made an effort to make the guests contented.
In the morning they have made a wonderful table and they have also served a wonderful breakfast. All the guests have sat at one table, so we could talk with all.
The rooms are not very big, but...
