Better late than never!
We stayed here for one night at the end of August 2006. The pub is gorgeous with ample parking & a massive, well-kept garden as well as a large sheltered area (before the'smoking ban' came into force!) We were made to feel incredibly welcome. Our room was at the front overlooking the road (back-water village so no traffic noise), the church (bell chimed every hour) & a field of cows who mooed in the morning.
We ate in the restaurant in the evening - delicious food; locally sourced, well cooked & impeccably presented. Service was excellent & afterwards we sat in the pub for a nightcap, or two, chatting to the 'regulars' who were all very friendly & generous. The champagne flowed at one point & as for Janneau...!
All in all, a great break away & I have no hesitation recommending The Foretescue Arms to other happy, discerning travellers!
