I stayed here with my husband and two grown up children and couldn't fault a thing. It was wonderful! Rooms lovely and comfortable and the meals were excellent. Thank you.
As we arrived felt like we were crossing over the bridge into another world. A beautiful and tranquil little resort with honeymoon style private bungalows (thanks you for the upgrade!) surrounded by the spice garden which is practically a living art gallery with sculpture and painted rocks making the whole place feel very special. The steep steps were no problem...

The welcome we received from Shirley at check-in was the warmest in Kerala. Our family of four stayed in an 'elegant cottage' located near the rear of the property. I can't believe that some of the reviews see this as a negative: but then again we are fit and not over the hill just yet. Our room decor was simple...

Although a bit out of town the Shalimar is just a great place with excellent staff. The setting is somptuous as you almost can't see the bungalows through the trees. The hotel provides you with excellent driver and transport to go around. And the food is delicious!!!
We stayed 2 nights in this resort in February as a gateway to Periyar National Park. The first room we were given was right at the back of the property and for the price we paid we were very disappointed. We returned to front office and were moved from the back down to a cottage at the front. Although this...

As you approach the hotel up an isolated dirt track, you feel apprehensive about what it will be like, but as soon as you step through the entrance gate you can see what a beautiful and relaxing place it is!
The staff are very friendly and helpful (especially Shirley!), the food is very good and reasonably priced, and the individual...

The setting is beautiful but be aware it is totally isolated. The facilites are basic and in my honest opinion it is overpriced for what you get. Staff more than helpful. Worth going there if for nothing else except the massage.
I enjoyed the food especially on my second night which was a buffet style that thrilled the palate. The...

A lovely oasis of well-kept property: Bungalow rooms arranged up a hillside with plants and statuary in between. We were welcomed and offered the choice of two rooms - the 'elegant' room we had booked (nice, two rooms to a bungalow, sited between the reception/restaurant building and the pool) or a free upgrade to a traditional Keralan Cottage (nice too,...

We reached our resort late at night and we were the view of the entrance made us feel comforted that we had chosen the right resort for our short weekend break.the location of the resort is far away from the hustle bustle of the main tourist area.
The cottages are spread in between tall trees that created a truly dreamlike...
