Stayed at Cardamom County last week. Awesome! My room faced the forest & its the proximity to the Reserve lets you feel the throb of live within the forest. Watching the stars on the terrace above the restaurant was amazing. The staff are very courteous & facilities top notch. the weather was cool, I didn't even need the fan.

Upon arrival, we were graced with a flower necklace and sandalwood powder for our foreheads- I felt like a queen! The front desk staff is so knowledgeable about the Periyar Reserve and Thekkady. Beautifully set in garden surrounds. Being cooler than the coast the fans in the ceiling were all that we needed in the spacious room with a view across the valley as we watched monkeys in the trees. The waiting staff in the restaurant very helpful, food a little disappointing. Climbing up the hillside paths and stairways cannot be avoided.

I stayed here in March for two days with friends. The staff were incredibly helpful in planning our activities in the area. They helped us book a tour inside the reserve.
