Joan Ashburner and her dog Rodel ( a two year old pointer) live in a croft on the shores of Loch Long, about six miles from Kyle of Lochalsh on the northwest coast of Scotland. This is a different type of B & B, ideally suited for those who want to escape to a place of peace and tranquillity. Hence there are no televisions or coffee/tea makers in bedrooms, no internet connection and no mobile phone reception until you are out of the glen.
The Berry has two double and one single room.
Joan is an excellent cook and can provide superb evening meals if required.
Her rates are: £50 per room (not per person) — don't know about the single. Evening meals are £28.00 per person which includes a bottle of wine.
The Berry is an ideal base for people who like hill walking or who want to explore this part of the Highlands of Scotland. The Isle of Skye is only six miles away and accessible now by a bridge.
