Where to start? Our hearts are still at Playa Viva. The staff, guests and ambiance at playa is amazing. The field trips were awesome and very well guided by Johnny. The organic farm was beautiful and culturally meaningful. Surfing in the warm, clear water was such a treat and Chimi is extremely knowledgeable about the areas waves. The surrounding towns... More

Unplugged, unwound, morning yoga with a world class view, afternoon massage. Wonderful food. High thread count linens. Nature lovers paradise. Happy staff, happy guests. Note: Gorgeous ocean view, but dangerous undertow, not good for swimming. Not for those who mind being "one" with nature.

The first thing we noticed upon our arrival at Playa Viva was the view - serene and gorgeous. The second thing we noticed (and what really held our attention) was the craftsmanship and detail, and the focus on sustainability. We stayed in one of the EcoCasitas and I highly recommend it. Everything was so well done - from the rich,... More

My partner and I recently stayed at Playa Viva for too short a stay. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about the property – staff, architecture, design, beaches, solitude, trash/walk bags, solitude, location, accommodations, water, solitude, peace, and on. I knew I was in the right place when I started observing the pelican formations follow the cresting wave lines, watching the Willets... More

The architecture and design is awesome. The location is beautiful. The staff is amazing and gracious. The food is authentic and delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better get away. I would highly recommend Playa Viva to anyone wanting to experience an amazing part of Mexico away from the large tourist crouds and beach front highrises.

I don't even know where to start but everything about Playa Viva gets 5 stars. The entire staff are warm and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure you stay is one of relaxation. Their food is made fresh daily using locally grown fruits and vegetables for their meals. You have to drive down a long slightly bumpy dirt... More

As well traveled people we appreciate and seek out beautiful, tranquil isolated places. Playa Viva appealed to us on every level. The gracious staff really makes the experience complete, they are well trained, kind and team spirited. Communal meals are delicious, the beaches are empty and the days were restful and uncomplicated. Julia, the resident manager runs a very tight... More

We have just had 10 days at Playa Viva and loved it! The setting is spectacular, located down a long bumpy drive and what emerges is a coastal haven. The views are spectacular, pristine beach and open-air genuinely thatched contemporary casitas. Sleeping at night to the sound of crashing waves with the gentle sea breeze is magical. We loved the... How many times do you plan a vacation and look forward to rest and relaxation ,but then it turns out to be just as hectic as being at work? That won't happen here! This was the most relaxing, tranquil and fun 7 days we've ever had. We booked a return trip next year before we left! First of all, David,... More
