Miyajima is a wonderful place to stay in. Infact in the evening all the turists go away and the place becomes peaceful and magic. Also the tori, the pagoda and temples at night are wonderful. I'm afraid this ryokan is overrated, to the point where it's barely recognizable. It's not particularly cheap. The onsen (public bath) that everyone touts isn't awfully inviting or attractive. What a find! After the hoardes of day tourists leave this tiny island, relaxing at the Miyajima Morinoyado was perfect! Spacious rooms (ours was Japanese style with tatami mats) and very clean.
