Stayed here for one night as I was attending a function in March. I couldn't fault the room or bathroom which were clean and well appointed. Usual tea & coffee making facilities and complementary ear plugs (!) - unnecessary as I was staying mid-week. The traditional breakfast was adequate and started at 7:00am which suited me as I needed to... More

We checked into this hotel on a Friday evening the price was good for a weekend break and yes it did alert you to there being a resident D.J and you may experience some minimal noise from this in your room over Friday and Sturday night. After being in the room for 1 Hr we could not put up with... More

booked late online. I wasn't sure to check in but the lady behind the bar, despite not finding my booking was very helpful, and didn't quibble with the cheap rate I said I found on line. She even upgraded me to a nice twin as my room was not ready. The hotel is old, but has character. Large open bar... More

On booking via the internet we were aware of the noise warnings for Saturday and Sunday evenings but, as we stayed mid week, we were OK. Our twin room was 2 single beds pushed together with a plastic sheet under the bottom sheet! Breakfast was very disappointing as we were offered Tea, Coffee or Orange Juice; when my wife asked... We (a family of four) have stayed twice here, once in the week and again on a weekend. Both times I have found the staff and management to be very courteous and friendly and our rooms well appointed. Car parking in a central location, and a good menu ensured a stress free stay. This is a busy pub with a great... More

Myself and my husband have just spent 2 nights at Ye Old Griffin, the room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite. The food was first class and we would most definately stay at this hotel again.
