Mikuniya ryokan is an amazing steal, if you are looking to stay in kinosaki onsen. Just the food alone made us feel that we hadn't paid enough.

My husband & I just came back from a day trip to Kinosaki. We had an excellent crab lunch at Mikuniya Ryokan. Although it is pegged at the entry price level, the quality of the food ie crab was excellent - very fresh & sweet. The staff was very helpful when they noticed that we didn't speak Japanese.
