Budget hotel in walking distance of the station and the shops/entertainment area around the station. The Biwa lake is not anywhere close (8 miles). The room is basic but clean. An indoor onsen is available, If you need a basic stay in Omihachiman this is a good option.

Stayed here while on a bicyle trip around Biwako. Owners/Managers were nice. Offered to let me park my bike inside (though I had not requested this) and took time to explain in detail my late night dinner options. Room was quite small and simple. Onsen-bath was simple.
