We have been here to eat many times since The George was renovated. There is a very pleasant ambiance and the food is generally good. Service is a bit patchy but the young staff are pleasant. I can't comment on the hotel rooms

We didn't stay overnight but we did eat in the restaurant. There was only one word to describe it perfection. The staff were lovely and attentive there weren't any problems and they kept checking up and filling up our water jug. It was the little things that really made the evening, although the food was amazing. It was the best... More

The George was one of seven locations we looked at a year ago to hold our wedding at, which was four weeks ago. I kept notes detailing our thoughts of all the places we viewed, which is helpful now that I am writing this! When I rang a year ago to book an appointment to view the venue, the staff... More

My wife and I went for a meal here on Friday evening, as there is a SEVERE LACK of good restaurants in the area, as they all seem to be pubs professing fine dining when they clearly aren't, so this place was on the list to try. You walk in through a busy bar area, which although nice, is very... More

We used to go to this restuarant 40 years ago on our way down the A1 but when they built on the car park we changed to the pub across the road. Having been disappointed there recently, we tried this hotel restaurant again, walking in past the very "posh" dress shop now attached. The setting was very comfortable with this... More

We stopped for lunch on the way back from Tattershall Lakes. We had our three children with us so were therefore keen to be sitted quickly which sadly did not happen. The children were getting restless in the bar area and eventually we went up to ask if our table was ready ; it was ready but nobody had told... More

Stayed at the George Hotel for two nights for a wedding we were attending. Our room was lovely, we had the Bernard Shaw room, and there was plenty room for my husband who uses a wheelchair to get around and into the bathroom. There was lift access to the first floor where our room was situated The staff were courteous... More

Having not eaten here for a while we decided to for Sunday lunch. Two courses for £18 or three for £22. So we had a two (myself) and three (wife) course meal and which we can say were honestly all completely delightful! Really spot on cooked food, will be going back soon.
