My family and I spent the Easter weekend at the Sani Pass Hotel and I must say it was awesome. The hotel is currently undergoing a revamp and is looking awesome so far. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. My favourite was not having to cook, breakfast is buffet style and lots of nice food to choose from,... More

Where do I start, with the receptionists who greeted us on arrival to the astounding Barmen Nicholas and Stephan, our waitors Welcome and Doris or the Sous Chef Prenolan? There is no place to begin every single staff member encountered was so friendly and welcoming, the service fantasic, food fabulous, surroundings majestic and inspiring - definitely a venue for any... Caught in years gone by and with some of the old world charm. Good 3 star value. Food typical old country style. Service OK. The hotel is upgrading their experience and slowly it is returning to some of its old glory. Still a very good place to stay if you want to explore Sani Pass and the area ( Underberg,... More

This is a veyr large resort hotel with pool and adjacent golf course, located at the foot of the beautiful Drakensburg Mtns. It is only 3 hours form Durban, on the hot coast, which is why this cool mountain resort is popular. Our room was average at best, furnishing were a bit run-down, food was also average at a large... We have spent three nights over the Christmas weekend. We loved it. My family of 4 spent our holiday in two of the newly renovated rooms that have not entirely been completed before the Christmas and New Year peak season. But none the less the rooms were clean, the bathroom new, bedding and mattress new and a pleasure to sleep... More

I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the past 30 years and have never seen the hotel so badly neglected. The hotel is in a terrbible state and the locals tell me the hotel has been repossessed by the bank. They are making some cosmetic repairs but the buildings are run-down and the furniture very old and in... This hotel is far past its prime. While it is currently being very slowly renovated, the amount of money and work needed may well be beyond that available in such a weak tourist economy. The staff are slow and indifferent, the hallways are cold, the rooms too "Motel 6" to support the resort's 3-4 Star rating. The food is okay... More

I was a rather apprehensive about this hotel, having read some of the earlier reviews, but the new owners are gradually bringing it up-to-date and our room was perfectly acceptable and perfectly clean. The mattress and carpet appeared to be new, as were the curtains. The bathroom was 60s brown, but spotlessly clean, even the grouting. The food was about... More

An aging hotel under restoration. Two days here, loved it. Room huge, ordinary, but with views to die for. Peaceful place, a photographers delight. This will be a top spot in the future when work is completed. A perfect place for a family vacation.

I stayed here for two nights and was not looking forward to it because of previous reviews. First the positioning is fantastic. Took a couple of walks from the hotel (the hotel provides maps) and these were wonderful. The hotel is a bit dated. In many ways I think it would be sad to upgrade the public areas which give...
