My wife and I were in Niseko early in the season and as a result found the place to be a little quiet and dare I say boring and massively over-priced. The hotel was good, all staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and very quiet. I agree with the earlier posts...you have to book a room with your... more

Ok, the hotel itself isn't amazing, but you have to book the room with private onsen facing Mt Yotei. It was great having an onsen in your room and looking into Mt Yotei while you relax in your onsen. The buffet dinner was excellent. It's about 5-10mins walk to the chair lift, or there's a direct ski-down area from the... more

Take an average hotel in a convenient location and staff it with tirelessly helpful people: that's my experience of the Hirafutei (what the Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel is called in Niseko). If you are looking for a place to soak your aching muscles and rest up for the next day of skiing/boarding, without breaking the bank, the Hirafutei should go... more

Great location, close to restaurants and right next to the ski lift. We stayed at a Japanese style room with onsen (in-room bath), was great to have in-room bath after snowboarding. Buffet breakfast was pretty good, they serve both Japanese & Western food, great selection of food. Two Free of charge desktops on the lobby floor, and coin laundry available... more

Agree with the above review. For the price, everything is quite reasonable. I stayed in a Japanese Style room. While the room was a little on the small side, it was comfortable. The location of the hotel itself is the selling point - close to the slopes and convenient to all restaurants or stores. One slight problem was that when... more

Overall: Relatively convenient for skiing at Hirafu with decent rooms that have good attached baths. Above average when pricing considered. Location: 3-minute walk downhill (5 uphill) from Grand Hirafu ski bus stop, where buses from Sapporo and local buses from JR Kutchan (if you use the train from Sapporo instead) embark and disembark. Several restaurants, convenient stores and bars are... more

First time on the slopes but from what I could tell, this was the best hotel to start off with. It has a ski-in/ski-out location, with the beginners run and ski lift just behind the hotel - fantastic location and easily accessible to the rest of the mountain. The room was very comfortable and very clean. Tea and a sweet... more

We have spent 11 nights in Hirafutei Prince Hotel and were very happy with everything. It has a ski-in/ski-out location, albeit through a walkway built around the hotel, but still much better than most of the other villas around Grand Hirafu. The beginers run is just behind the hotel, the exit to the ski slopes is at the first floor,... more

If you are looking for a place that is still a bit innocent, with snow that refreshes itself nightly. Then consider Hokkaido and in particular Niseko. About 3 hours south of Sapporo, Niseko and nearby Kutchan play host to a great multi-slope resort. Resort because it does run year round, summer catering to the hot spring lovers (hot springs with... more
