We stayed in the hotel during the August Fiesta week. It took about 40mins by car to get to from Madrid airport but apparently over an hour and a half by bus (as our friends informed us). It took an hour by car to get into the centre of Madrid.

The views of the mountains and the surrounding lakes and villages were amazing. In the August scorching heat, the wind was quite welcome even though it got a bit fierce at time. The major negatives for the hotel are the lack of pool and gym. There's a lovely sun deck with a shower and jacuzzi, but we really did miss having a swim to cool down.

If you don't speak Spanish you will struggle in Miraflores. The receptionists speak English, but not the bar or cleaning staff at the hotel. Pretty much everyone else in the village speaks Spanish only. If you're confident with a phrase book, you should be fine but we took a Spanish/English dictionary and it was a Godsend!
