Rooms were large but not very clean. Bathrooms, by contrast, were spotlessly clean. There is a planned activity (hiking, cliff jumping, beach picnic, etc) every single day. There is a free braai once a week and you get every fifth night free. Coffee Bay itself is a charming sleepy community and really one of the most gorgeous areas in South Africa. Coffee Shack is conveniently located right on the beach.

My only complaint about this place is that it is a little too social. When I was there most of the people partying were between 18-20 (drinking age is 18 in SA). If you just wanted to chill out with a beer (and not get extremely drunk) you weren’t welcome. The staff coordinate a number of drinking games which ranged from slightly entertaining to insipid.
