Dar al Kanadil may be difficult to find when you first arrive but once there it is a haven of non-pretentious relaxation. It's true there are few frills but the rooms are clean, large and very comfortable, the bathrooms are stylish and european in concept and the situtation of the hotel, in the heart of the Soukh cannot be bettered.... more

Dar Al Kanadil is the sister hotel to the Dar Halabia hotel. We have submitted a review of the Dar Halabia so I won't go into detail here about that hotel, but they are very similar in some ways, being run by the same management. This hotel was clean and comfortable, and much nicer than Dar Halabia (although that didn't... more

The hotel has nice contemporary decorated rooms. It is idealy located for visits of the souk and the citadelle. Very quiet. Nice staff. more

We stayed for three nights at the hotel. The room was fine and we appreciated the airconditioning. Breakfast was simple but very nice and the courtyard pleasant and staff very helpful. It is in an excellent location within the souk and close to the citadel/mosque which are amazing. The main issue we had with the hotel was the lack of... more

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the souk, meaning if you're short on time in Aleppo, it's probably THE place to stay. You can spend the day seeing the sights then end up back in your room in no time. The room was clean, nice big bathroom, nicely decorated and good air con. The staff were helpful... more

Elegant sort of place, classy rooms set around a traditional Arab courtyard. Staff helpful, one of only two hotels in the souk (sister hotel is Dar Halabia, also good but not quite as classy). Good breakfasts. Felt very secure - we let the two girls share a room on their own without any qualms. more

Located in the old city, comfortable and clean. Really well renovated and very happy with the room. In the main staff did not speak good English but the courtyard was a great place to relax with a coffee at the end of the day. Could have done without the extra charge for a local phone call, bit excessive we reckoned.... more

Excellent location in the old city with the souk on your doorstep. Beautifully decorated (with the best showers in the Middle East in my experience!) and full of charm. So tranquil - a real haven after the assault on your senses that is the souk. Polite and helpful staff. And considering all the above, it's very reasonably priced. more

Stayed in this hotel for a 4 days over Syrian winter. It is in a very quiet area up some stairs and alley ways off the entrance to the souq. The rooms surround a lovely courtyard. When we first arrived we were put in a room that was small but ok. After returning from walking in the souq we discovered... more
