We were picked up at the station and quickly transported to the hotel. Speedy check in and we were driven to our room overlooking the canyon rim. We tried to pick up our own bags but we were not allowed too! The room overlooking the canyon rim was excellent with amazing sunset and sun rises over the canyon rim. We... more

My wife and I and our three young children stayed here for one night in early November 2009. We very much enjoyed our stay. Our room on the rim of the canyon was spectacular, but there was also a room overlooking the town that we were shown first with a loft that our kids would have found just as acceptable.... more

Enjoyed our stay, the food was good, it had a beautiful veiw of the canyon, although it was a steep hike to get there . The cabin room was a bit cold, but we had plenty of blankets. more

The hotel was an interesting place to stay with rustic decorated rooms. We enjoyed the chairs located outside of the wing of rooms where we could sit and enjoy a view. This is not a hotel for people who want luxury. We liked it because it has charm and it is different from the run of the mill places. If... more

Everything about the Tarahumara Hotel is a facade, and DEFINITELY not worth your time or money to stay here. Upon arrival, we were barely acknowledged and quickly ushered to our rooms. The office staff (including Maria, the OWNER) never gave us any information regarding the grounds, pool hours, mealtimes, etc. It was the worst customer service we had seen throughout... more

We are very sorry about all your experience, we already have a new professional staff that is taking care of these problems that we had in the past, so we apologize for all the inconveniences.

I LOVED this hotel. My room looked over the rim of the canyon, and the view was SPECTACULAR at sunrise, and the rest of the day. Maria, the owner/manager was a delight and very helpful with information. I plan on going back next year for a longer stay. more

I don't quite get the castle theme in central Mexcio. A bit strange. Although others have had nice things to say about Maria, the owner/manager, I found her to be unhelpful and cold tending to down right rude. She was much more interested in speaking at length to her staff than attending to the guests that needed her attention. The... more

I stayed that this hotel as pat of a 10 day independent trip to the Copper Canyon area arranged through Copper Canyon Adventures in El Fuerte. When I stayed at the hotel, I was the only guest staying in the new canyon view rooms located directly on the canyon rim. The room was large, clean and comfortable. I watched sunset... more

The first thing that struck me very odd and out of place was the medieval castle look for a hotel in the middle of Tarahumara country. As we sat down to eat our first meal, I continued to notice the medieval motifs in the large dining room. Contrasting with the medieval look, a large mural on one wall portrayed the... more

Copper Canyon is one of those must-see places. Given that, I think it is worth spending a little more for a room that sits literally on the edge of the cliff looking over the Canyon. Mansion Tarahumara just added a building (and dining area/bar) above the pre-existing cabins. An entirely different feel. This allows you to watch the sunrise in... more
