Thursday 28 March We had room number 9 which was a suite with s window overlooking the front of the property with the lake to the side. A very pretty room de orated in purple and white. A carafe of plum liqueur was provided which was delicious and a lovely touch. The area is beautifully serene and quiet with only... More

Arrived here for a two night stay just in time for lunch. And what a lunch. Even my partner who believes Spanish cooking to be superior to French was left grinning ear to ear. The staff are really friendly, helpful and good humoured. The hotel is in a lovely location and is warm and cozy....perfect when the temperature outside is... More

Despite not having received our review from Booking.com, the receptionist quickly found us a room. The room was lovely (although it overlooked the rear car park) but was warm and well equipped. We found that we hadn't been left any toiletries (having run out of shampoo) but this was quickly remedied by the helpful receptionist. The complementary liqueur is amazing... More

We were travelling south from the ferry in Cherbourg so this hotel made for a perfect overnight stop in the pretty Normandy countryside. The hotel is an absolute gem, and our room was large with ancient wooden beams, and included a large well appointed bathroom and a view over the adjacent lake. Our new puppy was allowed to stay in... We booked this hotel on the basis of its high Trip Advisor ranking and not to put too fine a point on it, we were disappointed. We were allocated room 8 which was in the main satisfactory. Little niggles indicated a slight lack of customer care. For example the tissue box in the bathroom was empty, two of the bathroom... More

This is a suoperfrench hideaway, the sort you always hope you will find! we travelled to Brittany, so this was in an ideal mid-way location. In the forest near to Alencon and the autoroute, it overlooks a wonderful fishing lake. It is truly tranquil! The English wife, and French Chef / Husband are very welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable... More

The rooms were better than the restaurant. The menu is very limited, no vegetarian options (although I suppose that is nothing new for some areas of France..) and quite overpriced for what it is you receive. I ordered the salmon for starter and the dish also included some other fish that were not mentioned to me by the waitress, even... More

I have just spent 3 nights at this hotel and now need to diet! The food is fantastic. The hotel enjoys a lovely lakeside position and is set in a very tranquil location. The owners are a couple - he cooks and she runs the hotel. What lovely people. The presence of 5 De Tomaso Panteras in the car park... More

Run by and English woman and her French husband this hotel is comfortable enough for a long stay to explore the eastern Pays du Loire rather than be treated as a stopover as we did. Wonderfully warm welcome from our owner manager who had turned on the heating in our room in anticipation of our arrival on a cool evening,... More

We spent just one night at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were welcoming and the turret room was spacious and comfortable with an a distinctive round bed. Slight niggles in the bathroom, where I had to reposition the shower door on its rollers and there was a small problem with the lavatory cistern. There was... More
