I was staying at the Chapel House while attending a cousin's wedding. I'd picked it from the list based on the description of the restaurant's food and the wine list. I've grown used to great food in England , contrary to the expectations of many , and the owner/chef is truly talented and has a classical training , one suspects... More

If you are staying near Wolverhampton, Birmingham or Tamworth I recommend this guest house to you. The Couple that run it are extremely friendly. The owner also heads up the kitchen, and he is an award-winning chef and the food was truly excellent. I can't eat Gluten / Dairy and he tailored the food to my needs. Two course and... More

Stayed here in November. Friendly service, and nice room. Bins hadn't been emptied in room, but otherwise no comments. Atmosphere very English (some may say a bit stiff), rather quiet, and homely feel. Food was good, with wine on the expensive side. Light sleepers may here chapel bells during the night. Nice touch is the home-made marmelade in the morning.

From the warm , friendly welcome, attention to detail , to the great food , to the owners and staff the Chapel House is real Quality . The attention to their customers extended to a pre visit road diversion email the day before arrival , the only sad part it was a one night visit.

From the moment we arrived to eating complimentary vegetable crisps to finally eating a 3 course dinner followed by coffe and chocolates, it was superb! Not cheap, but worth it for a special occasion. The overall bill for all the trimmings for 2 £110.

I make no apologies if the title of this review sounds 'twee' but these are indeed its highlight features - it really does feel like being houseguests rather than customers. Having said that, the friendly attention is not intrusive, and provides a nice balance for the residents who, for the most part I would say, are business guests rather than... More

A five star restaurant with rooms - that intrigued me - but it's much more. Historic and yes old, but well kept up - not a modern hotel with big screen TV for those who want to spend all their time sitting in a room watching TV. But rooms were certainly adequate size and comfortable and beautifully decorated in period... More

We wished we'd found Chapel House sooner. We were staying in the other hotel in Atherstone for one night and discovered that it's restaurant was closed and that food was to be served in the bar, so we decided to eat out and were delighted to stumble across Chapel House. Described as a "Restaurant with Rooms", we have raved about... More

We found this little gem by accident and are so glad we did. The service from arrival was exccellent. The food was beautiful and the staff were able to answer any queries we had regarding the wines for the meal. As it was a warm evening we sat in the walled garden before and after the meal. This was secluded... More

this is one of those little gems you only rarely find, a quintisentaily english family hotel run by a charming and friendly couple who made us feel we were in an english country house rather than a hotel. the food is english/french ,cooked by the owner and was cooked to perfection, his knowledge of wines were astounding and backed up...
