In todays stressful world this is truly the most magical retreat!Having driven along the long track and been shown to our rooms one could feel a " letting go" and a realistaion that - to be here for a few days was going to restore and relax. lovely walks around the Quinta-- plenty of good books essential! All we did... More

We were looking for peace, tranquility and escapism, we found all this and much more! The first views of the lake as we got nearer the hotel were simply outstanding, we were lost for words( very rare!). Our hosts Frank and Daniela greeted us warmly and from the first to the last moment our every wish was catered for. Our... More

A wonderful hotel: great situation, lovely views, comfortable rooms, great food! Pretty isolated so take some books, or take up bird-watching with the experts. Most helpful hosts, advising us on where to walk and even lending us the three dogs as company. I recommend eating dinner at the quinta as it is a long drive from anywhere, but believe me,... More

We booked this last minute after seeing an in-flight magazine ad and were unsure what to expect. However, upon following Frank's directions through villages and hills, we glimpsed our first stunning views of the lakes that waited for us. With the warm welcome we received from the family we we knew we were in for a fantastic few days. Our... More

If you are looking for a place that is peaceful, a visual feast and where electronic beeps are rarely made, then this is where you should go. I spent 22 days from the start of September, and loved every day and so struggled to keep the review short. The continental breakfast has a larger variety than most hotels, with homemade... More

You guess a place is a bit unusual when it takes a trawl of its big website, several TripAdvisor reviews and a few ponders on GoogleMaps to actually work out where it's at - i.e. pretty much an hour's drive from anywhere. It struck us once we settled in that if you don't like escaping from most aspects of normal... More

I went for a long weekend and long to go back! You have your own little en-suite room with a sitting-out area in front looking over the lake. Everyone eats communally, the food is delicious, using locally sourced ingredients. The Quinta is 4km from the nearest road, it's so peaceful & quiet. Frank also does birdwatching trips, he's very enthusiastic.... More

One of the most memorable experiences I’ve lived until now… Not only for breathtaking place and amazing location but mainly because Frank and Daniela really manage to mingle a bunch of strangers around their dinner table in a familiar event that reminded me of old times ... a large gathering around a table, lots of interesting and noisy talks coming...
